I have had magnum 500's or styled road wheels on so many of my cars I decided to put the stock wheelcovers back on my 68 Charger R/T.  The car came with these covers but with red lines.  I have added wsw with the 584 code covers.  Let me know what you think.         http://public.fotki.com/drodg/wsw-1968-charger/charger1968002.html

Tired of magnums? You must be tired of mopars then. Dog dish looks better. Those hubcaps are fugly to me. I guess if the car was coded for them I could stand them.

Well I am not tired of mopars but I the car came with them and the car is pretty original except the wheels.  I am keeping the redlines and wheels so the change it up from time to time.  I also never really loved the looks of these covers but the woman who bought it new back in January of 69 left them on so why not.  It was a carry over car from 68.

HKCharger

it's yours and if it is what makes you happy, then do it  :yesnod:

my only thing is that I want my charger to look tough, and if i had that one pull up next to me it gives the "it has a 318 look to it, dont even bother' look to it :hah:

drodg

I wonder if the 318 thing fooled some guys back when she owned it.

bsakal

I actually like those hubcaps, the same ones came on my '69 SE. Personal preference I guess.

I like them to. Something a little different. My Charger has its original 14 X 4.5" road wheels so Im sticking with them. But if it came with hubs I'd run them.

charger_mike75

They look good on that car, I wish they made em in 15"

WingCharger

It depends on the vehicle with me. 70 RR's look good with dog dish, but not a Daytona. I would be okay with them on a 500, but recalls look better on 500's than anything else. :D
SE hubcaps =fugly x900! Remind me of $20 walmart hubcaps! :eek2:

Whats the difference between road wheels and magnums?

The70RT

Magnums are chrome. Road wheels look like magnums but are painted and used a trim ring.

I like the look with the hubcaps. Makes it look original as there were many that had them back then.  Believe me, I am old enough to remember them on the street new!  Nothing wrong with the magnums/road wheels either as it looks great too.
That said, I stumbled on a set of brand new NOS hubcaps (15" Hemicar-only)  for my Hemicar and it is what came on it so.......the original wheels will wear the hubcaps at shows when I finish it and probably Cragars at other times as I love the look of the classic Cragar mag on a MOPAR.

I had 500's on my Satellite. I liked them. I'd like to do dog dishes on my next car. Kind of an all business, no frills look.

The hubcaps look good to me.  :2thumbs:

I appreciate the comments.  I think for me I have a 69 Coronet R/T also that is kind of a survivor I like the car to look like it did new.  The woman who bought this 68 had it for something like 17 years. I think she kept these wheelcovers on the car.  I think the orginal look is so cool.  The coker tires  were old on my car.  I wanted to keep the car looking original but not going to a rwl tire.   I am keeping the redlines with the magnum 500's  and using them again probably next spring for shows etc.  It looks kind of sleeper like esp with kids at stop lights with mustang gts and subaru wrx's.   Once again I am 51 and my wife asking me why I do the things I do.

looks  good ....  with hub caps :yesnod:

I like those Bullitt style hubcaps, have a set myself in the garage. I also like Magnums, have them on my 68, but they are so popular, it's good to see other original wheels and hubcaps on Chargers.

Good on you, put on what you like best. :2thumbs:

I like the 500's.  I always thought it was the best designed wheel ever.  The car is beautiful , you could go with steel rims and it would look nice.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I think it depends on the car, and on that car, they look great. The white side walls help, I think.

I'll bet it looks great with magnums as well. White goes with anything, but ya can't drive it after labour day.

I love those caps and they will be used on my 68 Bullitt clone. I`ll also have a set of 15" magnums so I can have the best of both worlds.

You mean to tell me that still happens?   :brickwall:   :shruggy:                :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

I have a set of those hubcaps, and my car came with dog dish caps, so either way i'm covered.  Plus buying Magnums cost money and what i have now is free!  I would sure like Kelsey Hayes recall wheels though...  :drool5:

I like the looks of the hubcaps :2thumbs: If I still had the caps that came on mine Id run 'em just for something different :yesnod:
