Yes - it may be time to give up my project baby.  Looking for advice on where to get a good estimate on a fair price.

Also would go with some original service manuals and pamplets.

I don't want to post anything until I can get the going rate. Thanks

You may just want to watch Ebay and look for similar condition cars and the price they "sell" for.

You can also click on advanced options and look at the ended auctions to see how much the cars sold, got bid up to etc.

I find appraisals are very subjective.

Depending on where your located there in Minnesota there are a few members here who are from that state. Maybe one of them would be willing to go over and take a look at the car and give a fair price estimate for it. I would but I'm in Indy, and thats a bit of a drive. Now if it was a 69 500 then I'd be heading that way as I type this.

Thanks - now I am a little stuck. Great advice I did go to ebay and for my car (R/T) in running I was seeing numbers like 110,000.000 (completely restored)  or then I did a classic car research like Kelly's Blue book and it came up with 45,000.00 min all R/T all running.

Just so you know my car is not running yet it is what my brother refers to as 85% complete.  The engine is totally clean rebuilt and ready to be put in and fired.  The paint is on but the top coat is not on yet. The 110,000.00 had tons of extras and definitely not oriingal 68 many modifications.

It is red with a black vincyl roof.  Everything is there and it is just needing to be finished and that is a big task.  it has all black interior and that is there but now the dashand trim work needs to be put in.  There is a new rear deck.  I understand it even has air conditioning and both manual and automatic shift.

The car hails out of California ( I have the original pink slip)  It is not matching numbers but it is all original parts and no rust and very clean.   It used to be I can't remember the color I think  blue W/ blue green interior.   The new pieces are oriignal the purpose was to restore it back to stock.  There are extra parts and original manuals.

The engine is not original but it is a 440 what I think is bored out to be a 470 with racing parts.

Anyways, it is begininning to sound to me that 68 R/T is on the rise and maybe I should finish it to run at least before I sell it?  That car is like a hypnotic spell it has been drifting around since 1982 and has sat since with work being done here and there sitting 12 yrs one place 5 yrs another  like a curse.  It puts a spell on you.   I really want to get it together but I have not been able to do it and now I am having trouble parting with it.  Just tell me - PUT THE CAR DOWN RT/QT!!!!  I will try to post some pictures.
Guy in Minnetonka I may be interested in your offer to help but I am not sure how to get ahold of you.  I am over by WI but I know Minnetonka well. Used to live on the border over by SLP, Plymouth and Hopkins/Minnetoka.  I know some people in Spring Park and Minnetrista.

Finish the car.  Drive the car.  Enjoy the car.

Half finished projects out there get off loaded for pennies on the dollar.    And there's lots of people that will take advantage of that.

I would PM Pocket thunder and get his opinion.  110,00.00 is about twice plus what they go for in my opinion.  Don't be fooled by book values.  Go to ebay and watch what things sell for.  In todays time 30,000.00 to 45,000.00 is about as high as I've seen.  Most real seller deals are at about 25,000 to 35,000.  Keep in mind the color has been changed and the original motor is long gone.  I bought my 69 RTSE on ebay last year for 30,000.00, I  have another 10,000.00 in it and if I got my 40,000 back I'd be shocked.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Thanks everybody! It is a great start:

Not a lot of R/T 68's on Ebay:

I don't expect 110K for my car.  That was what I found for R/T on Ebay. 110K was not original  & extremely modified with very fun updated things and complete to show.  The car for  30K not original either.  The value dropped when  R/T came off. They were driveable. The lack of R/T made it confusing.  I found min 45K for R/Ton classic car search that is similar to Kelly's and tried R/T and non-R/T and that helped.  I also looked on "Wanted and there seems to be a call for 68 R/T project and running so it is wanted.  In its project state is what I am not sure about value.   Also, it is a non-rusted Cali car no changes there.  No added metal no puring etc.I still have all of the oriiginal interior blue/green so I could switch er back too.

"Finish it, drive it enjoy it sounds great"  I decided it needs finishing at least to run(we all know no guarantees when you get in there what is really there) I think that is where I am heading for now.   Hopefully I can drive it enjoy it and then maybe let it go.
It can't sit all by its lonesome anymore!  I smashed my hand and cannot do it myself otherwise it would be on the road now.
Sorry pictures coming after next Saturday. Thanks for everybody's help.
