I don't know anything about them, just what's posted. I was told they sold shortly after the ad was posted. :brickwall:

That's what I'm thinking too, because the first ad asked for cash or trade, that means you are face to face during the sale. It's hard to scam someone that way. But, why would the buyer place the ad so fast, he obviously hasn't even picked up the cars yet.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

dodgecharger-fan

Maybe they're trying to fund the purchase of the 3 cars by selling odd what he doesn't want before paying for them.   :flame:

If he was nearby and had a trailer, he could probably get all 3 home in a few hours.

i smell scam.

I think some of these ads that seem legit (they say bring cash or don't have any of the red flags) are jokes. Either they put a buddies phone number in the ad or something like that. There was an ad that seemed real ('67 chevelle, had a transplanted 427 from their race boat with a 4 speed, very good price). The number was for a bakery that was closed on sundays...

bull

These cars are in Portland, obviously the Oklahoma City ad is a fraud (This posting has been flagged for removal). I went to the guy's house not too long ago and saw two of the three cars in person. I went to see a different black '68 he had at the time and it turned out to be one I knew about with a rotten roof that this guy bought cheap and flipped for a profit after installing a tired 440 transplant. See the Vectors on the '69? I sold them to the guy two weeks ago. Don't worry, this guy is making money.

here are copies of Emails I got from a lady selling her husbands charger.

I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and away from a computer. The car is in excellent running and body condition, no flaws on it or any other mechanical problems. It has a clear title and it will be signed and notarized on your name as soon as the payment will be completed. This was my husband's car who passed away 4 months ago and it only brings me bad memories. I only hope to find a good home for it and to be taken care of like he did. I believe $4,800(not negotiable) is more than a fair price.
I will tell you a few words about it. '68 Dodge Charger RT, original 440 engine, power steering and power brakes, automatic trans in immaculate condition with only 95,594 miles, VIN number: XS29L8B219630, rust free, no scratch and hasn't been involved in any accident. This car needs nothing.
I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car, to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions. This way, I shall be assured of the serious intentions.

I said Call me I'll buy it right now>>>Here was the reply...

As I told you in my first e-mail, I lost my husband in an accident 4 months ago and I was badly injured. I have problems with my hearing and most of the time have headaches. I'm in Santa Monica now for treatment. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with Alfa Movers http://www.alfamv.com so my presence isn't necessary. The car and all the papers (title,etc..) are in their possession ready for delivery. The shipping company will hold the payment until the car is delivered and inspected. You will have 3 days to test and inspect it. If it's not as described or if the title is not clear or whatever problem you may find and we can't work it out, the car will be returned and your money will be refunded. If you accept it, the papers will be signed and notorized. Shipping is included in the price.
Quite simple and fast. So if you want to purchase the car please go to http://www.alfamv.com/search.php and follow the instructions.

The ad I Replied to was on Craigslist in MA. I thought the person posting it really meant $48,000 but figured I'd check on it anyway. Turns out that if you look up the shipping co online many people have been almost scammed the same way.

Thanks for clearing this up, I emailed the Portland ad, but haven't got a response yet. Now I don't feel so bad thinking I missed out on a good deal in my own neck of the woods. I still don't see that being a scam though, so it must've been some sort of joke. Oh, I get it now ha ha ha .

Mike,
I got that identical email (the first one) from someone on a blue '68 Barracuda that was all over craigslist a while back. I saw the same ad listed in Eugene, Sacramento and Seattle. Since then but not too long ago I saw the same blue Barracuda listed somewhere else in Oregon but this time for a legitimate price. I didn't bother emailing the second time.
