1969 Charger dash harness question

Today I installed a stock radio into my car and while was tearing things apart, I noticed an unused connectior in the bundle. It is aparently for instrument panel lights. It has one wire running in and splits to 3 female jacks molded into one solid unit. Currently there is nothing plugged into it. All my dash lights appear to be working fine. One item I know I had to rewire was the ashtray lamp. I would assume that is one item that plugs into this. What else would plug in to it? AC controls illumination (my car is not AC)? what else?

 orange wire with a 3   female conections   

  1      ashtray lamp   
  2       A/C - heater control   
   nothing  pluged in to number 3  on mine   ... & mine has  A01 light package    ....
  i  used that one for   modern mechanical gauge ilumination

A/c control lights plug into it. Mine only has two wires plugged into it. The a/c and ash tray lamps.
