My latest model project...

This is my latest model project. It's the Revell '69 Daytona. It's as factory stock as I could get it (hence all the factory Daytona questions I have asked). I still need to do a few little things such as put the door handles, mirror, exhaust tips, wing and wheels on. Then I need to do a clean up on it (remove finger prints and smudges and dust).

I should "hire" you to build a model I've got. I bought two '69 Charger R/T Diecast bodied model cars from a garage sale (along with what appears to be a '70 Charger Plastic Body never finished if the parts are all there). One was started to be put together and it looks like model glue was dumped onto the engine and the other is still wrapped. If I can find them and if you are interested I'll ship them both along with the '70 and if you build the new '69 for me you can have both the other unbuilt ones as payment.

If I can the '69 Daytona (on the bottom) one someday I might get you to build it as well and pay you with a certain Dodge Charger T-shirt that doesn't fit my anymore  This is the only car Im missing for the series....



I've got the HEMI as well on the top (unbuilt) but I can't find it in the barn....


Oh and the the '70 Charger appears to be the remains of the F&F Charger Revell model kit, not sure if its all there or not though.... I'll try to get them out before I leave on Vacation otherwise I'll send them out at the end of August....

Nooo! I've been searching for that Daytona for awhile now! I've only found on on ebay and they wont ship to Canada! Walmart used to have tonnes of them but now it's all GTO's....

Oh yeah that's right, it does come with both sets of wheels! Well if that model shop has another one let me know what the price is and I might send you the money to go buy it and then mail you the shirt

Hey Cody I figured I had one around so I went digging through the barn and found a box that once again I purchased at the garage sale with one of those Orange Daytona's in it. The car is in pieces and I know it's not all there. Whomever started building it screwed it up big time!

I also found out where my HEMI model disappeared to! My cousin took it to try and build it for my birth 3 years ago lol! It's in her basement and I'll be picking it up about the 20th of this month!

Cody, the Daytona is missing the entire dash, the windshield is COVERED in glue, etc. I have thrown it into the box with the '70 Charger Model (which I was going to try and repair and make a clone of my dad's car out of it) so the Daytona parts are yours as well. I'll most likely be sending you a large box when I get back home on the 25th! The 2 silver '69 R/Ts, The box with the 70 and Daytona, as well as the HEMI engine (no painted just construction, figure you'll have fun on this one) plus the t-shirt once I can find it again in my room lol.

Put it this way, if all the parts are there and you can make it look like my dad's Charger (as close as possible) I'll pay you cash for that!   

Whatever spare parts are left over from any of the model kits are yours (IE Tires)

Pictures are not a real problem lol! It's mainly just exterior paint on the body....

I actually had that Lincoln Mint Daytona model at one time as well... it sat around for years and never got built.  Some of the parts got lost/broken and eventually I think it got thrown out.

Pretty Cool! I am finishing up a Allis Chalmers Orange IH Scout II. I just dont have all the stuff you do. I use rattle can paint for the exterior, but have to hand brush everything else. Do you have one of those model paint spray guns? I think one of those would make it a lot easier. My models arent as detailed as yours.


I want to find a 70 Charger kit, a HEMI 500 Kit, and a HEMI Daytona kit. BUT, I cant find those anywhere!

My brother had the same problem when he bought one in a kit to do a General Lee Model. IT SUCKED!! But I need to find one that works, because I have a willys jeep and a 1955 Chevy I need to do.

This one worked perfectly when I first had it but I got called away on "duties" and so it sat without being properly cleaned. I think it might be gummed up with old paint. BUT, Ive also included an ALMOST new can of compressed air for it for Cody! This cost me about $50 after all said and done.

I use spray paint for everything. I barely hand brush anything anymore because spraying it looks better IMO. I only hand brush when I'm blacking out grilles, painting small parts such as fans, carbs etc and when I'm painting a Pontiac engine or a engine that is red. I have a can of Hemi Orange spray so I use that on my Mopars (when the engine is Hemi Orange).

I have an airbrush kit but it dosent work properly. I tried it and it sprayed more paint on my hands then on the part.

Dave, I just looked at a side profile shot of a Daytona and the scoops on mine look to be in the same place as the real Daytona.
