Transmission Cooling Lines

I installed a cheetah manual valve body on my 727 automatic and now need to install a trans cooler.  I currently have year one stock replacement trans cooler lines running to the radiator.  Is there an alternative to running the braided aluminum lines to the new cooler?  I am looking for a cheeper alternative to the expensive braided lines.  Any suggestions?  What do most people do when installing the trans cooler?

You can just use black rubber hose rated for the pressure and worm gear clamps.
