Power Steering Noises ..... this is pump number 2

I recently rebuilt my power steering pump.

It was making a chirping noise that matched engine speed.

Kinda a sqweeek   sqweeek  sqweeek noise.

At higher RPM's it also made a Deep noise that kinda sounds like a sqauk sound.

So I figured the NEW bearing in the NEW pump where toast.

So I exchanged it and well same deal all over again.

The pulleys are lined up within reason.

Ive played with the belt tightness.   It seems to be the most quiet at what I would consider over tight.

The pump has fluid.

The steering works fine but the noise is really annoying.

Any ideas on what gives?

Or is this "just how it is"

shouldn't be " how it is"
I'd say either you got a belt tightness issue... or really bad luck with a bearing.
I will tell you from a racing perspective, that whenever I change a power steering pump out on any car, I drain the system, put in a new pump, and then refill the system using high temp tranny fluid.
Works better, better as far as how much heat it can take before it breaks down... superior in every way I know of. Been running 2 cars that way now of my own for many miles and its like new. One of which gets auto crossed infrequently.

Did you hammer the pulley on? That's the fastest way to damage a new bearing.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
