looking to get a cheetah manual valve body for a sb trans...does the year of the trans matter and where can i get a cheap non transbrake non reserve valve body...jegs/summit is around 175....

Let me know how this turns out, I was thinking about the same thing for my 727.   What kind of shifter do you have for it?

Turbo Action makes forward pattern valvebodies in 2 flavors ; full manual and manual/automatic. Check the TA website for part numbers and shop around. Another option would be a performance reprogramming kit from Transgo or B&M.

I'm told that if I was to get a manual valve body it would be hard on my tranny, something to do with always having maximum pressure available and highway driving.?????????  Any thoughts?
