Depends on whether its day or night.

In college and for a few years afterward, I had very bad problems with insomnia.  I could sleep two, maybe three hours a night so usually around 2 AM, I'd go out to my Jeep and drive for 3 or 4 hours just driving and thinking (a girlfriend of mine called it roaching because I always was out at night like the roaches).  I refined my driving music tremendously dring that time.

At night I like a lot of chill trance or other  ethereal slower instrumental stuff.  I also like Tangerine Dream, Air, and Moby.  Some of the best night driving songs I have found are  "Love on a Real Train" by Tangerine Dream and "SIgns of Love" by Moby.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

In the 55' it's strictly oldies.  American Graffiti soundtrack is the best probably and has the most desirable songs with least amount of having to worry about changing tapes..

In the Charger, I never even turn the radio on.

Anything daily it's usually newer rock on WTOS 105.1(you can stream it if you want to take a listen  www.wtosfm.com) and also cause they play a lot of OZZY.
or late 60's, 70's rock on another station.
If it's a CD, it's usually anything OZZY, Sabbath or even DMB.
But hell if it's a CD I really like a ton of stuff so I won't go there.  There is a thread on here of greatest songs and I threw an extensive list out there, do a search and you'll find it.
Actually more than one music thread on here for sure.

At home , it gets crazy when people get here cause I have sooo much music.  Anything from Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Jr, to Megadeth, Accept, Krokus, Iron Maiden, Kansas, PF, and always a few Doors songs, as well as that old Rob Base DJ EZ rock tape, The Gap Band and even Sisqo music gets pretty popular.  The night usually ends up with me doing some Elvis impersonations, but only after I have performed an air guitar concert with lyrics to at least 3 Ozzy songs, which are most likely Mr Crowley, Suicide solution, and Diary of a Madman.

I could go on for days but you get the idea.

Couple of mine are:
Tony macalpine-hundreds of thousands
Fastway-all fired up
Metal Church-start the fire
Rob Zombie-feel so numb
Nuclear Assault-something wicked

It all has to do with what mood i'm in when i drive.

Rev on the Red Line -  by  Foreigner

Two in a row, everybody knows
At the green light you rev it on the red line
Been waitin' all week to get my
wheels on the street
Get my hands on the wheel,
slide down in the seat

She's wearin' new colors and
runnin' pretty good
I got four hundred horses
tucked under the hood
But there's no need to
panic, it's under control
We're aerodynamic and ready to roll

Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Rev on the red line
Just let it go

Runnin' all night on Lake Avenue
It's a piece of cake
If you know what to do
You've got to lose a few
'Til the stakes get high
When the odds are right
You just blow by

And make no mistake, there's
women who just wait
For the man and machine with the best time

Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Feels like a lifetime
But soon you'll know

Wasn't long ago I could've lost my wheels
Had to outrun the law, it was no big deal
I guess they had a grudge, they
were hot on my tracks
I had to pay off the judge to
get my license back
Now I need to pin those needles,
got to feel that heat
Hear my motor screamin' while I'm
tearin' up the street

Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Rev on the red line
Just let it go

Rev on, rev on
Rev on, rev on

Don't think I'll ever learn to slow down
Rev on, you'll still be here and I'll be gone
Rev on, rev on

My favorite driving song, that would be  Mother by Danzig - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgSn0SbQJQI

I love the classics, but how about some new school stuff:
-Rage Against the Machine
-Queens of the Stone Age
-Tool
-A Perfect Circle
-Deftones
"I don't advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, they just always worked for me"  - Hunter S. Thompson

Ok with me it changes from time to time, but the last long trip I took (3200km long) I continuously listened to the Dropkick Murphy's - Warrior Code album.

Usually its just the local classic rock station if someone is riding along. If its just me it could be any thing like Queen, Judas Priest, Metallica, Danzig, Death, Obituary, Amon Amarth, etc. It just depends what strikes my fancy at the time. Lately its been alot of Heidevolk, Skyforger, and J.B.O.

Big Lebowski

The ultimate '69 Charger song back '88 was Ted Nuggent's Stranglehold. It's an awesome song to hear at night, & the best part was how the '69 Charger headlights slowly come up, that made the songs intro even better.   :2thumbs:
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

In The City-Joe Walsh

Told my dad about the song, and said it is one of his favorites. He also said it was in a movie back in the day about gangs called "The Warriors". Anybody know anything about it? My dad said it was one of his favorite movies. Even had the sound track on 8-track for his 70 Camaro. :eek2:

A ha, a man who knows. Nice darts &c.

I just need a new fuel tank put on and some paint and then we're off to go (D)odge some trees. Potentially happy days. I was scrolling through threads of yesterday/week/month/year (now in week 20 of forced unemployment) and saw you had a little whoopsie yourself fairly recently. Pleased to see it had a happy ending, you can't be too careful these days.

On a side note I met my first triple A representative at the weekend who was a jolly nice fellow. He had a spanner with him and everything, and I had such a great time I ended up tipping him with one of my plastic stegosauruses. God bless America &c

Back in 85' going to the Washington Caps Hockey games with my buddy Mike Thorpe in his puke blue ford escort, man this brings back memories of painting the parking lot of the Cap Center(back then it was called that in Largo Md) with a big #3 and "Scott Stevens for President" then he did something dumb and got rewarded by being traded to the Devils.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Okay, I'm gonna give this a whirl...I have several playlists on my iPod for when I mow...I have 5 acres, so I typically mow for around 3-and-a-half hours or so...this is one of my lists that I mow to, so technically, I'm driving, but I would burn these to a disc for travelling in the car...also, they are in no particular order...
