Ahem..."The rarest car is the one you own!"*   :yesnod:  :2thumbs:   :coolgleamA:  :icon_smile_wink:

* as they are all one-of-a-kinds, and unlike anything else you will ever drive. Ever.

Does no one else know of the Plymouth Savage? I'm still looking for the pictures I have of it, but surely someone else here has heard of the car or seen it.

From CarDomain:  http://www.cardomain.com/event/2007/06/03/MSR?c=0&p=3

"A 1969 Barracuda Savage GT getting pulled off a period car carrier. The Savage was made by aftermarket performance company Auto Craft—akin to Shelby for Ford or Yenko for Chevy—and this sweet machine is one of only three or four know to exist. Over the years, a lot of the original parts have gone missing or been replaced, but none of that seemed to matter to the gathered crowd. When the 600HP mill was fired up, everyone was all smiles."

Being the owner of an A66 Performance Package Challenger, I find it amazing how many '70 340 Challengers' turn into R/T's when it's time to sell.

Thanks for linking those pictures. That might be the same car I have pictures of, but the pictures I have of it are from 1978-79 though. I had only heard of the one car, but who is to say there wasn't more right?

hemi-hampton

I had a Picture of one somewhere & it did not look like that one. LEON.

Does this mean we can do the Ford Marti Report thing where we break options down until we have one of one cars?  I have a 67 Charger with factory vinyl top, factory disc brakes, dual outside mirrors and front and rear bumper guards (I've been told the dual mirrors and front/rear guards on a 67 are rare but I truly have no idea) and a factory woodgrain steering wheel.  Couldn't be too many of those but in this case being rare doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable.  Myself, I thought we were just talking about the rarest models that we knew of personally?  :shruggy:

One of our MoPar buddies supposedly had a '65 Sport Fury with a Hurst package option :shruggy: I didn't know they made one but he swears they did and he had one. That had to be a pretty rare car I assume.

On a related note. I went to Advance auto today to pick up a set of valve cover gaskets for the Charger today and the guy at the counter asked me what year and I said "1968" He then asked me if it was a standard, R/T, or 500. I said "they never made a 1968 Charger 500 those were a '69 model". He then procedes to tell me that he had a '68 Hemi 500 in high school. I said "are you sure it wasn't a Coronet 500 or maybe a Monaco 500"?  "No" he said. He then tells me he still owns it but its in a garage in California with his other collection of cars including the very last '67 Vette ever made with only 500 miles on it :icon_bs: I guess that 1968 Hemi 500 would have to be the rarest MoPar. :yesnod:

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.
2007 Magnum R/T. 5.7 Family wagon.
