They are nice, I saw them at Carlisle & glad to know they're available now since most originals are dried out & look like crap. I never liked the idea of spending what Just Dashes charges to recover old ones, so now that BE&A has these, I know where I'll be getting mine from too.   :2thumbs:

v21hemicharger, let us know how well they fit & line up when you can, thanks.

I've had the fronts on for a few weeks.
Mike sent the rears last week.   :2thumbs:
I forgot to get a new set of whiskers for the rears at Carlisle.  :icon_smile_blackeye:

I have good original pads for front and rear but it's nice to know that they are being reproduced. Mine are green.   :icon_smile_tongue:

I don't see them on the site.

I'll contact Mike and see.

That was one of the items I checked out at their booth, they make real nice items, but to me these door pads look  just a little "puffy"to me,and the grain is not quite like an original.Don't get me wrong, they're nice,it's a great alternative if you need them, and thanks for making them, but IMO,they are pricy, and I would have to find a mint orig set if I needed them.

Paul,

The grain doesn't match original and isn't intended to.   If somebody is looking for an exact match of factory grain...  do not buy them...  keep looking through the old ones at the swap meet.   Mike is more than up front about it.

I saw this mentioned in another thread and maybe I just don't understand. Did they just choose to not make them correct? When you make restoration parts and they are not correct, who are you intending to purchase your products?

I won't blindly trash a company for no reason, but I have seem some inferior or incorrect parts put on the market. The Charger tail light bezels with the crack in every single one I looked at. Bad mold? For $375, there should be better quality control than that.

Some of these parts are very expensive. Do it right the first time, and people will not have a problem paying the price.

Read Mike's post from when he introduced these pads  http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,42317.msg465500.html#msg465500

QuoteThe grain is as close as we could possibly get.  Is the grain an absolute dead nuts match? Nope, not possible.  However, for anyone out side the 2% that hates all reproduction parts these are bathroom material.

peepsrock

I've already received my white 70 fronts, and the rears are on the way.  Can't wait to install them.

Are they absolutely like the originals?  Well, for one thing, NO, my originals have cracks in them!!!!!  Regarding the grain, I'll take BE&A's word for it that they are not absolutely exactly perfectly like the original grain - I personally don't see any difference, and I don't care!  They look GOOD.  And now, when I'm driving down the highway with my arm on top of the door, I won't be worried about the door pad getting more cracks in it.

Regarding the price, well....... to me, it's not cheap, but it's certainly not outrageous - I consider it reasonable for what you get, and didn't hesitate to put in my order as soon as they were available.  What would you have to pay for an "EXCELLENT" set of used ones, if you can find them - and then you'd still have 40 year old vinyl that is going to crack if you push on it too hard.

BEAPARTS --  Is the 69 tan set you offer the original shade of tan or is it supposed to be that pale General Lee color?   If you could post a picture that would be great.

69_500

No plans on the 69 White pads? mine are cracked, and have been looking for years now for a nice set to replace them with but to no avail yet.

Hey Mike..........
I'm sure they are, but have to ask....... Are the whites for '68 true to the year being the "pearl" white and not the white white of '69 and '70?

Also, tan's for the '69's !!!!  Very cool... Dana may love you after this........ She has her originals, but there will be a day...........
