i bought a set of 2'' TTI headers for my 68 charger with a 440. it is automatic on the floor. anyone have to modify anything to make theres fit? i heard you might have to go to a mini high torque starter to clear the headers. anything  need grinded down? i'm trying to find out everything you need and have to do to make them fit so when i put them in i have everything i need to do it instead of running around waiting for this and that to get here to put them on. thanks Nate

TTI should be some of the best fitting, no-modification, headders you can buy..... you should have noticed that with the price,  I am not aware of anything you should need to change.

Id simply call TTI and tell them all the details of you're build (ie ps auto...etc) the will let you know what to expect.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I just did it on a 69 with a 440.

The full size starter was fine.

The Kick down linkage needs to be modified.

As well as possibly the Gear selection linkage..... mines REAL tight and I havent taken it out enough to see if it really needs it or not yet.

I used the kickdown linkage instructions and it didnt fit.

I suspect they are based around a mini starter.

I ended up having to redo it with my measurements.

Clearance is extremely tight between the Starter and Kick and the headers.

Anyway all in all its a great system.

But I am HIGHLY annoyed at the Kick down thing.

Neither TTI or the Distributor I bought it from mentioned it.

And for the money I paid it should include a proper fitting one.

Or give me the option to buy it for $50

i agree they should offer a new kickdown  for the outragious price there  ehxaust is. so the only problem i will run into is the kickdown linkage and maybe the gear selection linkage? i don't have to buy anything  i just need some pieces of metal to fabricate it some?

Mine came with all the hardware and gaskets.

But I didnt buy from TTI Direct.

So I dont know what the "normal" is.

And I also got the X-pipe.

I bought it from here.....
