Is there such a thing as  rocker panel molding for a 1971 Charger SE? I think I saw one pic somewhere of a 71 with it but that's it, was that a option?
Thanks!

konigcharger

none of the information i have shows rocker mouldings as an option

*EDIT*it shows is sill, drip rail, belt hood& rear, door edge, and front stone guard as the only mouldings

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

This was the pic I saw, it's actually Tim Wellborn's car:

For one thing that is a Superbee not an SE.  I know you could get 71's with those mouldings because I had a 71' 500 that came from the factory with them.  I don't know whether or not it was an "option" though or if certain models just came with them.

Yeah, I just noticed that, I phrased it wrong, I ment to say I saw a pic of an R/T, ......was/is that molding an available for a SE.
Thanks.

I believe they are called sill moldings...M25 ....the pic of that '71 shows a '73-4 molding...they were much wider than the two previous years... :yesnod:  I don't think sill moldings were available with the Superbee or R/T models in '71 and were standard equipment on the 500 model...my '71 500 has them...

Here's a thread that I posted some of the standard and optional equipment that were available and prices from '71

I thought sill molding was inside the door jam...

Aren't the ones inside the door jams sill plates vs. sill moldings?

Also states standard equipment on WP23 ..chgr500  :yesnod: ...and why is the pentastar on the wrong fender in that last pic.. :eek2:

I kinda like the '73-4 wide version of the molding...seems to ground the car much better...they l@@k alot like E body moldings...I have alot of SE or optional   trim on my car...pretty much everything offered except luggage rack and upper door moldings and oh ya...door edge protectors...upper door moldings are  only used with the half vinyl top cars...

JPL

So, were they an option for a '71 SE?

konigcharger

yes... chgr500 i love your car  :drool5:
