Hello all.  I'm about to send off my '70 charger to the blaster.  Everything is stripped off except the hood, rear lid, doors and fenders.  I know the tricks to mark doors and hood for re-alignment.  Whats the best way to mark the fenders for correct alignment so I can take them off and put them back on later as close to original as possible?  Any ideas?

I usually re align everything. You wouldn't want to do it my way, too time consuming but perfect. Best advise I could say is watch & keep & count every shim that comes out of the fenders, Usually some from Factory at very top on cowl area & then some at very bottom 2 bolts. Count them & keep track where they went. Theres that drill a small hole method but I dont use it, you can scribe lines but they usually dissappear with my technique anyways. Have fun :scratchchin: LEON.

Get a piece of cardboard and draw an outline of a fender on it.  When you take out a bolt and shim, stick it in the cardboard about where you took it off the car.  I'd realign everything later since it probably was crap to begin with.  Bolting the car together, blocking all the panels together, and painting everything assembled is the only way to get it perfectly flat and have the bolt heads painted.

So, keep track of the shims and bolts and then just re-align everything afterward.  Ok guys, I'll give it a try.  Thanks.
