I went to Island for a little T&T on sunday and got 3 runs in before this.....I guess I found the limits of a Centerforce dual friction clutch....sheered the hub clean off. Flywheel is off getting cut, should have the new clutch tomorrow, hope to have her back up tomorrow night. At least the Lakewood can go back in now....ran a 12.5 with a blown clutch though. I think that clutch was costing me ET and MPH all along....let's see where I'm at after the new one goes in. Going with a RAM 6000 and a B&B PP....

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Saw the post on Moparts....dang you tore that plate up good dude !   On the upside, you found it before the big show....it would have sucked had that happened at E-town  :P

Doug how much rpm were you turning at the stripe and what was the ET/Mph ? A little math will show how much slippage was occuring.  ;)

I'm an auto trans guy so i can't offer much on the clutch choice but i would feel comfortable with Dwayne's recommendation.  :yesnod:

Lots of last minute thrashing huh.....first the engine and now this ! You deserve an A+ for effort  :2thumbs:

I ran a Centerforce for years in my Satellite.  I could leave at 5000, dead hook and run 12 teens in the car which weighed 4050 with me... :shruggy:

Chryco Psycho

What a surprise !! it is a C force piece of junk , I have seen many like that which is oddly why I refuse to use them
just like GM lots of advertising  for a marginal product

I´m getting a dual disc mcleod. What is your opinion of that?? Mine will be a pro touring, but i want to have a few runs down the strip, to see what it does.
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

I like it.....I wanted to go with that, but at 700 bucks it was a bit pricey......Maybe I'll switch over after Pinks All Out is over, but for now I'm going with the best clutch I can get for less then 200 bucks...I already have an NOS Chrysler pressure plate so all I need is the clutch....

You are a true muscle car guy.   :2thumbs:  You own the coolest car, race it, fix it,  (fast) and always keep a great attitude. :yesnod:

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Why thank you... that is the coolest complement I ever got! Yes, I do like to think that I am the essence of a muscle car guy....always took pride in the work I do. As far as the fixing part....it helps to have money to fix it....no money, no honey. Of course there are limits to that as well.....don't know who's going to win that one, me or the car, but I'm hoping it stays together for the weekend at least......

Reminds me of my buddy Mike.

He use to blow clutches up like that all the time.

Bummer. Songs like you had fun though.
