I always thought it would be great fun to have a /6 Charger, with air, deluxe options, etc.  And have some yahoo say "Hey, I'll race your Charger for cash!".  Tell him sure, then garage your /6 roll your R/T Hemi out.

Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

Went to a garage that works on classic cars about 2 years ago. Customers orange Hemi Superbird was there. Mechanic said the owner only drives it on his own property.

Went to look at a motor last year. Guy has a 200 foot garage packed full of Mopar Muscle. He didnt take me in, but through the open door, I saw a Road Runner vert, as well as Cuda and Chally verts. He said he has been collecting high performance Mopars for the last 30 years, and many of them are 6-pack or Hemi cars. He said he never takes them out.

Man, does that one have a black vinyl top by chance?  If it does, it is a copy of my base model......

Chad, it's a non-vinyl car. It's pretty close to your car option wise though.

You might like this guys, from the 2007 Spring Fling.

I was going to say the weirdest/rarest are the 4-door HEMI cars or the convertible max wedge cars of the early '60's...

An original 68 SS HEMI Dart, owned by a friend of mine.  Needs work, but it's the real deal.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible is the rarerst mopar.

No, I dont know the people that own them.

However I do know of a guy in sydney that owns a 1970 R/T Hemi Challenger. Original matching numbers 426 hemi engine and 4 speed.

They only made 1,  1970 Coronet R/T conv.  It was found in a Canada scrap yard and is now restored.  It's that dark copper/brown color
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I think you mean an R/T convertible don't you?

The latest info indicates there were three; the Canada sold car you mentioned, a limelight export car and a US sold car that hasn't been accounted for.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

They are very rare and the highest on the desire list but I don't think you can say they are the rarest when there are 1 of 1 cars out there.

Of all the HEMI E body convertibles, though if you break them down by color, and transmission I don't think that there are any 2 that are alike.

And I don't think that they made but 1 Superbee Convertible period, and it was in 68 I believe done for one of the auto shows.

As there was no Coronet 440 or Super Bee convertible with which to start, I think the common belief is that particular show car started as either a Coronet 500 or R/T convertible and refitted and restriped as a Super Bee. I don't think it was actually a WM27 car.

Oh yea, thanks I changed what I wrote.   :icon_smile_big:  Coming from someone named " 69 Coronet RT I'd think you'd know.   :P

I saw an article about it several years ago, they said 1, but 3 works fine.

I don't think it was an actual WM27 car, I think your right on how it was converted. I have a picture of it around here somewhere.

472 R/T SE

Was the sublime car that Indiana Pacers Rik Smitts owned the vert or was it a hardtop?

I remember the rags making a big to do about it years ago but can't remember what top it had?

69_500

Rik Smits had a lime green Coronet R/T Convertible HEMI car. He also had a nice pair of Superbirds as well at one time. used to see him at local shows quite often, but haven't seen him much lately.

Outside of the Chrysler museum...this one.....

craigandlynda

nice to see the 62 plymouth...the fisrt b-body, i believe, and the lightest weight.....?

70rt

This one is a Max wedge car, 3 speed, plate says 1 of 8, caught my eye, sounds good with the cut outs. The master cylinder is hilarious, its the size of a dixie cup. I guess stopping was optional!

hutch

1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst owned by Charger1969 on this site.  I think they only made some low number like 500 and no telling how many are still around.

440charger68
