i have a 572,with indy 572-13 365 cnc'd heads.i drive it on the street mostly.what would be the best intake for it? i have a fiberglass hood with a six pack scoop on it,so i have a little room.now im using indys dual plane on it,with a stock hood. i also have a indy single plane for a 4150 with a 2" rise spacer to a 4500.would this flow enough for this motor? i know it works well with a 500",as i have three of them.

i was thinking of indys single plane made for the 4500. i dynoed this motor,it made 600rwhp with the dual plane, and 670rwhp with the single plane with spacer.

the motor obviously responded well to the single plane, so I'm going in the right direction. what are your thoughts on this setup with the right manifold?

OS, a quick question ; when you installed the ICH dualplane intake did you open up the ports to max wedge ? The Indy DP is a std port opening allthough internally it is max wedge sized. The last 1/2in or so before the head surface it closes down to the smaller port size....which will create a bottleneck.

The 440-3 dominator intake seems like the logical choice with 572 cubes...it should make more power all things being equal.

i had indy open it up to max wedge size. it is still smaller than the port of the head.im only using the dual plane with the stock hood,as it cost too much hp.

so you think the 440-3x would do best? i thought the 440-3x was the same as the 440-3,just with the spacer made in. :scratchchin:

OS, a 572 is gonna want lots of fuel and air....your dual plane vs single plane dyno comparison shows that the big cube build is responding well to more plenum and a larger carb. You could run it with the single plane and adapter if you've allready got those parts. It might pick up some more top end power with the dominator flange but that's combination specific and we don't know anything about this 572  :shruggy:

the specs on this motor are:

572-13, 365 cnc indys
13.7 cr.
msd 7 al-2
indy cm-2 camĀ  282/290 @.50,.705/.663
custom step headers,2 1/8,2 1/4
4"collector and exhaust
msd pro billet dist.

70 charger
4 sp.
4.10 dana

i already have a 440-2 with a 2"spacer,just wondering if i can do better.
also what do you think about going up to a cm-3 cam? 284/300 .720/.675.

i drive mostly on the street.the cam in it now, idles very good and,has a lot of low end.
also thinking about a 300 shot of nitrous (zex plate system).i use a airmotive a 1000 pump, with -10 to and from the pump.
i also use their bypass reg, with a -8 return to the tank.

with that fuel system,is it enough to be able T into the line to feed the motor and,the nitrous?

again,thanks for any help,or tips

Nitrous cams are specced on a wide lsa (112* or more) so unless either of your cams is that wide you would need something new for the juice.

If i were planning to use nitrous there would be a dedicated pump for the fuel supply to the plate.  :Twocents:

Just a thought,
Maybe a dedicated pony tank and pump, for the Nitrous side, stand alone  ?

You could then spike it up a bit with some added C-16 Insurance when on the 'roids.

I musta missed it, How much you spraying ?
