Typed Daniel Jones ESQ into Google, first link that comes up shows he died in 1865!

Then tried Julius Berger, a Nigerian web site.

Imagine that!

I had an e-mail like that a while back, probably several over the years, the ones where you need to help get some money out of Africa for a wealthy family.  I actually called the guy as a phone number was included and strung him along for 10 minutes.  I was straight and to the point - I want the money, how do I get the money.  He was asking for me to send him an e-mail and I said what the hell for, I am on the phone with you right now.

I eventually cursed him out and called him a no good SOB and so on and so on.

Good for a laugh.

It is a shame that people actually fall for this shit.  I would think that the first clue would be a lawyer with a Yahoo e-mail address.  How fitting!

The latest scam is one where they claim you won the Canadian Lottery but in order to receive your prize you must send them thousand$ to cover the taxes FIRST. Many people have fallen for it...stupid people that is. :rotz:

What about $35.000.000,00 and your share as reward for money transaction would be 25%!?
Almost regularly I got something similar, usual poor widow or daughter looking for help....Nigerian scam

I get those daily...   (I sent them back pics from Rotten.com)...   It's not a good idea to write back.  Now I'm on the official Nigerian Scam-Artist Network... :)   I told them their letters were a joke, and offered to write them an eloquent letter that would work twice as good, if they would JUST Western Unioned me some money... lol

There's supposed to be a reciprocal taxation-agreement between America and Canada that lets Canadians winning a US lottery to be taxed at the Canadian tax rate...which is 0% on lotteries...we pay enough on everything else.  Not sure if it applies to Americans if they win a Canadian lottery, something tells me the Uncle Sam figures lotteries are just another source of income...mind you, Im sure there are banks/etc... that would advance you money agains the winnings to pay the taxes...

One of my cousins won a few grand when we were visiting family down in L.A. and he had to fill out an IRS form before he could pick up the prize...the form basically asked whether he wanted to be taxed at US or Canadian rates...he picked Cdn...0%.  Not sure why you'd pick anything else, but there must be some situation where you'd go the other way...

I Will like to seek your assistance as a matter of urgency to stand as the beneficiary to the sum of ($23,000,000.00) which my late husband deposited in a Security and Finacial company for mine and my children's inheritance after he has passed away. He told me this when he saw the rate of killing in our coutry in case of life or death , Suddenly the enemies terminated his life for us. THIS IS THE MOST BITTER EXPERINCE IN MY LIFE.

Your quick response towards rendering yuour total commitment in helping me claiming this fund in the Security and Finacial company in Europe, will enable me forward to you, the details
on how you will go about the collection of the fund and the percentage you will expect from me.

for Security purpose, I would like you to open a new email address purposefully for this transaction. I also wan't all our communicatiuon to be by e-mail so that my life will not be expose to this oppositionist who murdered my husband.

Lastly, there will be a very solid agree between you and I, that you will not betray me after you have caimed the funds from the company. As soon as this first face of the trasnaction is concluded I will want you toi arrange for my travling document to meet with you in your country and also to arrange for where myself and my children can live for the rest of our lives so that these opposition/Rebells as they are still running after peopels lives in our country.

I will welcome your suggestion on the areas we can co-invest the fund on after arriving in your country. Please, the confidentiality of this transaction I'am entrusting on you is very important to me.

Thanks while waiting for your quick response.send your reply true thise email address:

Right,  Come on Hater,, that's the oldest one in the book

On a sad note though, an older guy that lived around here fell for that Canadian scam and lost 7 grand..
He recently passed away.

I think those scam people should be taken out and maimed  :flame:
