I had an e-mail like that a while back, probably several over the years, the ones where you need to help get some money out of Africa for a wealthy family.  I actually called the guy as a phone number was included and strung him along for 10 minutes.  I was straight and to the point - I want the money, how do I get the money.  He was asking for me to send him an e-mail and I said what the hell for, I am on the phone with you right now.

I eventually cursed him out and called him a no good SOB and so on and so on.

Good for a laugh.

It is a shame that people actually fall for this shit.  I would think that the first clue would be a lawyer with a Yahoo e-mail address.  How fitting!

The latest scam is one where they claim you won the Canadian Lottery but in order to receive your prize you must send them thousand$ to cover the taxes FIRST. Many people have fallen for it...stupid people that is.

 I got a press relese today from a local P.D. where someone was cheated out of $40,000 in a Lottery scam..
it happens quite often and probably half the folks are too ashamed and embarassed to report it. 
Greed has it's drawbacks..

In case one of you guys gets an e-mail about the winning the Canadian lottery, there are no taxes - if you win it, it's all yours!

  I get those daily...   (I sent them back pics from Rotten.com)...   It's not a good idea to write back.  Now I'm on the official Nigerian Scam-Artist Network...   I told them their letters were a joke, and offered to write them an eloquent letter that would work twice as good, if they would JUST Western Unioned me some money... lol

One of my cousins won a few grand when we were visiting family down in L.A. and he had to fill out an IRS form before he could pick up the prize...the form basically asked whether he wanted to be taxed at US or Canadian rates...he picked Cdn...0%.  Not sure why you'd pick anything else, but there must be some situation where you'd go the other way...

On a sad note though, an older guy that lived around here fell for that Canadian scam and lost 7 grand..
He recently passed away.

I think those scam people should be taken out and maimed
