Will drive shaft from a 74 Charger fit a 69 charger?

Both vehicles have a 440 with a 8 3/4 rear and a 727 trans.

Eldon, measure from the center to center of the u-joints and if it's 51.5 inches long then yes it will work.

I'm thinking the 3rd gen prop shaft is longer...if it is then have it cut and re-balanced or buy new.

It's actually just a touch shorter at 50.68 inches but that iis enough to make it too short.
