Anyone have any info these cars in the AZ junkyard http://carsinbarns.com/Superbirds%20&%20Daytonas/pg28sd.htm Joe told me that the one in the last picture was his car. Also on http://carsinbarns.com/Superbirds%20&%20Daytonas/pg10.html this looks like the same car. The dent in the nose is the same and the fender scoops look the same. Thanks Ken

Ken, one of those cars in the photo is the one in your shop.   Those were owned by Wayne Beel at one time.  I "thought" that Joe had tracked him down, but I could be wrong about that.

Yes Dave, The Wayne Beel cars. Joe Ward and I started the restoration of his car last winter. Joe passed away last month and I'm just starting back on the restoration and looking for any history on the car. Thanks Ken

Hi, would you please email all the pics you have of the two Beel Superbirds?  Cars in Barns is still down and I never did copy the pictures.  Thanks, Joe Ward, N. Little Rock, AR (j.s.ward@worldnet.att.net)  Please send at the highest resolution.

Thanks for checking.  Both the Birds in Beel's desert salvage yard are tor-red 4spds with no options.  They are sort of twins.  There isn't a green one.   The yard was in  Benson, AZ and I guess it's long gone.  Wayne is still around.  I believe he lives in Phoenix but am not 100% sure.  I was looking at the pics the same day Cars was suspended.   I hope it's renewed.  Joe

They're listed as Vit. C  on the Winged Warrior list but that's an error -- both are Tor-red.  That was a great thing to publish the info.  It'll never happen again.   If you have vin + description of Birds not on the WW list I'd like to add them to my list.  Joe

I've saved all of the e-mails that I received from Joe over the last couple of years. Can't bring myself to delete them. Seems so final.

I had never gone down to Benson to look at these cars (extremely far away), however, about 17 years ago or so (best shot from a weakening memory) one of the 'birds had been bought and was in the car port of the sherriff of a mining town inAz. Globe Arizona.  Of course when we stopped to ask about it he said he was gonna restore it but not long after that he got into some legal trouble, lost his job and then his cars disappeared.  If I remember right I think he had a 4 speed 71 'runner also.  I just remember his extremely hot girlfriend more than I do the cars.
