Per,

Are you installing the upper pad ,and then the mirror? Try having the remote adjuster plate butt agaist the bck of the pad instead of the inside of the door.

Then I have to remove the cables from the mirror or remote if I want to put it in that way or? :scratchchin:

you just need to remove the tin plate from the adjuster handle end ,slide through the hole in the door ,put the tin plate back on....

Brian, there is no tin plate. I can slide the adjuster through the hole untill the threads are totally on the outside but it's not enough.

Have a pic of it here:

Thereb should be a tin plate the stops it from comimg all the way through the door. Or is it a repop that came with a big speed nut instead?

Belgium R/T -68

Yes, it's a repop. The adjuster has a groove at 12 o'clock so it only fits one way and can only go in a certain length. It's supposed to
go through the doorpanel and be locked with a plastic chromenut.

Per,

I would still like to come and take a look at your brakes. Not that I'm the ultimate expert, but 2 sets of brains may have the ultimate punch to solve the mystery  :icon_smile_big:

I must admit I also would like to hear that 500 rumble......
Anyway Let me know if you want me to swing over.....and yes I know you already asked but I was extretemey busy since we had to solve a little crisis at work.

BTW your car looks far better than the regular partially restored stuff you see mostly on meetings here. So I think you can drive and show that beast with pride. And trust me the mre cars you tackle the better the outcome is, so I'm thrilled to see what the Challenger will bring us.......

Thanks Koen, I sure have learned a lot how NOT to perform a restoration so I'm convinced the challenger will be both easier
and cheaper, the look others will have to decide. ;)

You are always welcome whenever you have time. Maybe you could think about these possible reasons for the brakeproblems
in the meantime:

Since the new mastercylinder keeps pressure when isolated the problem must lay on either the distributionblock (new repop),
the calipers (new MP powerbrakes) or the rear wheelcylinders. No leak of oil so somewhere there is either a internal leak or an
airpocket, what's your best guess and how test it? :shruggy:

Holy %@# Per that sounds amazing. And it looks great, you've done a great job on the car. :2thumbs:

six-tee-nine

Per,

Can't you block one of the ports of the master cil (I'd say block of the rear) so only the front brakes are connected and try that to bleed that ciruit.
If you can bleed the front side then maybe your problem is in the rear brakes. If that does'nt work try to block the port for the front brakes and try to bleed the rear. If you have succes then your problem may be in the front brakes.

Use an old piece of brake line with a good nipple on it an cut it and the solder or weld the end of the tube shut so you have a goor block of plug. Maybe make two of them. Then you can block of after of before your proportioning valve / just before your calipers in the front or your drums in the rear.
The firt step you need to be sure of i guess will be done = master cil is OK. Now the next step will be to eliminate every possible leak / air pocket down the way. I suggest you start with blocking of the longes lines in the system and try to put pressure on the short ones first. And the less parts you can put under pressure at the same time, the less faulty parts you can have.......

You get my point??? :2thumbs:

Belgium R/T -68

I must be the biggest dumhead on this forum. :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: The law of nature says
that air is always travelling upwards so who is so stupid that he mounts the calipers with the bleedernozzels downwards and
brakehose on top? Yes, I did. :brickwall: :brickwall: After 5 months of struggling with these brakes, including 400 gallons of
brakefluid and 3 mastercylinders a friendly neighbour passed by the garage last night and when he was watching me bleeding
the calipers for the 1000th times he kindly asked if it wouldn't be better having the nozzle at the top and immediatly I knew it was so
damn obvious that it should be like that. I just simply switched side of the 2 calipers and I suddenly had full pressure.
Hopefully I can laugh about this in the future and it might help somebody else from not making the same mistake. ;)

Now I'm looking forward to the first testrun. :2thumbs:

Per I'm really sorry but I just had a great laugh  :slap:

But hey that's the result of getting smarter, you'll be searching for solutions to far...... You can always sell them cilinders.
At least you can stop your beast after smoking the tyres....

Finished the interior today after a lot of struggle. Although everything is new it was the most difficult part of the project because
there was a lot of fittingissues. Okey that Legendary makes quality but propably were all bodies and doors a little bit different so
smaller modifications were necessary. Not to talk about the doorweatherstriping, supernice and fits perfectly on the door but don't think that you can close the door afterwards, no way. Anyway, since the brakes are working I could drive the car for the first time and that was really great. :icon_smile_big: Now I have to find a shop who can do my wheelalignment so I can take a longer testrun
and then it's waiting for my trunklid so the stripe can go on. Very nice feeling though to be that far. :yesnod:
