Well, we finally got the exterior paint on the 1968, 383, 4-speed, 4-bbl and brought it home this morning.  The paint is SS1 - original stock color for the car.  If we weren't restoring the car back to stock, we might have gone with a different color - but it will work with the black vinyl top and black interior.  One problem we had - a bit of orange peel.  I think it was too hot when we painted - above 90 degrees.  So we have a lot of sanding and buffing to do.  We finished a patch on the top of the passenger side fender, sanded and buffed with rubbing compound to see how it would finish.  It looks pretty good.  The blue tape is so we don't burn through the paint on the edges.  Once the large flat surfaces are sanded, we will focus on the edges.  Some overspray on the rear springs and gas tank.  Will clean that up later - exhuast will be replaced, as well.  It's good to get it home where we can work on it at our leisure without driving 20 miles up to the shop in Salt Lake City to work on it.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Love the color.  Mine will be that color some day too.  If only AMD would finish up their quarter panels I could finish.
