I have some trouble assembling the shifter console of my 74 SE Brougham. I have a Hurst pistol grip, bucket seats, but something does not look good in the middle. Looks like the previous ownwe did some "creative" work with a saw ..... Images would really help.

Thanks, that was quick. Your pic helps a lot. Mine is 4 shifts, but the shifter boot looks like in the middle of nowhere....
