i guess people just love spending 1500-2000 on rims instead of go fast goodies.

Let me guess, it doesn't have  the original am-8track thumbwheel in it either.

From the the looks of the magnum 500 wheel on a green car in your signature, we probably see the world in a similar way... :icon_smile_approve:

There is a point where it becomes too much. IMO 16" look good and even 17" with the right size tires look good. 18" could look OK on the back with big meats and 17" up front. These guys don't realize the PROBLEMS they are asking for. A good friend works at a tire center and sells 18" and 20" to guys who come back 1 year later and put 15" and 16" back on. When you increase wheel size and decrease tire/rubber size you are compromizing suspension. Now all of a sudden the wheel cannot absorb the impact that the sidewalls/rubber/tires used to be able to when they were taller. There is NO functionality in anything over 17" to 18"..period. Some of you might think it looks cool, but wait until you have to spend $300 to straighten your first bent wheel and $500 to replace your first shredded tire. I agree it looks out of proportion, but it is also not the best choice for ride quality or longevity.

Buy the car, then put real wheels on it. Then sell those POS wheels back on Ebay and get about $1000. back of your money ;)

I saw that poor car on Ebay (I think it was) and the only thing worse than the wheels is the interior. Hopefully someone with some taste will buy it and replace all the bling bling.

How much longer can rap videos continue to define a culture? (if bling bling can even be considered a culture)

NYCMille

The wheels can be replaced - the interior is what REALLY kills it though...

I agree the wheels are an easy fix, the point is if thats what the guy likes and he has the title go for it.  I am not a big fan of a big fat blower comming out of hole cut in a perfectly good Charger hood, so mine doesn't have one.  If yours does, I can respect that.  I have a feeling my friend Ken is starting to frown at the blower idea with all the problems he has had, but I will continue to encourage him to finish and drive it at least once because it is his dream.   :Twocents:

So DO you all not like the Xtreme Lee?      As those were custom built budnik wheels and were those not  an 18 or 19?

I do not like the wheel choice above as far as color and they are too big in front but..... I like a bigger wheel.

I just checked the were custom 18 and 19.

Not really...but this is from a guy that went with 14" wheels and hubcaps.   ;)

It is a matter of preference and like it or not everyone can do what they want to their own car IMO. For example, my idea of a great car is stock exterior with a modern drivetrain(IE 5.7 fuel injected hemi and a 5 speed overdrive).

Somewhere there are a couple of old Schwinns wondering where their wheels went.

IMO, the big difference between the Xtreme Lee & this '68 is that Xtreme was done with taste & the '68 blew right by taste & landed in poop.
Because of the sheer size of the rims, they need to be a darker color to look more like they belong with the overall picture...& as said earlier, the interior is just waaaay too much. :o
This looks great, in my opinion.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Ok,  Well that is my point that they can be done tastefully.....  I personally do NOT like the ones above in the first post.... WAYYY too much.... But I dont mind the big wheel if done correctly.
