I just bought a 72 440 , runs well, now I no 72 motors have 8.2-1 comp, or less but just thinking out loud what would it take to make this engine perform, cut the heads? Cam, etc,,,, if I were to use this without a rebuild what would work? thanks.........

Run a light load of NO till she blows then rebuild her better...A small dose of NO will actually not be that hard on it.  The heavy doses can be mean...

Depends what you wanna do as far a street/strip.... for the rebuild.... You will get varied opinions on this.

Simple,  take a sensor(much like a break light sensor) when you engage the clutch meaning move the clutch peddel down the NO will cut out. and then come on when you release the clutch.

use a small system this will be no biggie...

Thats an idea, may try it, thanks.

I swap to ported closed chamber 516 or 915 heads , it will bump the compression 1 point into the low 9:1 range , swap the cam too & use a short duration high lift cam like the Engle grinds & you will never know it iwas a low comp engine
