440 truck engine in a charger?

Hey everyone.  A customer brought in a 68 charger with a 440.  He was having problems with the steering crosslink rubbing against the oil pan.  This car has manual steering (originally equipped with a 318 engine).  The engine he has now is a 440T truck engine.  It looks like the oil pan is deeper than the car 440s that I have.  Is this the case?  If so, can I switch the truck oil pan for a car oil pan to gain some clearance for the cross linkage?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

the truck pans have a rear sump and the car has a front sump near the k-member.

change the oil pan and oil pick up to a car style and that will give him the room he needs.

Hemi pan would be a good swap and smaller pick up tube for a 440 can be had as well.
