Those were some neat pics. Anyone elese like to look at piles of crushed cars and try to guess what they were? I saw a petty blue 72 Charger with hideaways on top of a pile once. That was sickening. :flame:

Going to junkyards is a bittersweet experience for me...I love looking at what once was, much like the 'Stang and that old truck...lot of history there, ya know? But, I think about whoever the original owners of these cars were, and how they must have felt the day they were handed the keys to their 1939 Dodge truck, their 1968 Mustang, their 1980 Datsun 280Z....I wonder if knowing their one-time babies were all lonely and sitting in somebody's woods or in a scrapyard waiting to be crushed, would all those feelings come rushing back? I guess I feel as though all the cars sitting in junkyards still have souls in them. I often wonder whatever happened to my dad's bought-brand-new 1966 Charger...is it still running? Restored? Sitting in a field? Part of the Earth's crust? Or his '69? His '72?...Just some food for thought...great pictures....thanks...

...or maybe I better just lay off those "organic" brownies my brother made earlier... :shruggy: ...dunno...

That has to be a 50's model truck. Too bad the glass is gone. I'll bet some of that glass would be hard to find.
Ever since I saw "Bubba" the rat rod truck on Chopper Challenge, I've wanted to build something like it with a 392 hemi.

Kind of like this only not a Chevy.  ;D

Someone help me find glass for Stuart's truck so we can start on our new rat rod.

I wish I could find some pics of Bubba. That truck is the most radical ratrod truck that I've ever seen.
They cut off the lower portion of the front fenders to expose the front wheels and tires. Never seen that done before on a truck.

My buddy just rescued a 1939 Dodge truck to restore, so that was my point of reference...seeing that sad, old bowtied rust bucket just made me think of him...sorry for the confusion...

We are crushing 300 car again this week ,  We have a different style crusher this time . They call it a bailer and depending on the size of the car the smaller ones become cubes ( like in christine )

Will try and post some pictures tonight .   I know Iknow crushing is bad , but hey I gotta pay the bills somehow .

we only crush them after they have been in the yard for two years and picked over.
No drive train or the top 32 requested parts get crushed.  All fluids, mercury switches,  cat converters , wiring and all aluminiun is striped from the car long before they get crushed . We are allowed to crush 5 tires with each car  , so i dont have to pay to have junk tires hauled off ( THATS expensive )

I WOULD ONLY CRUSH THE OLD STUFF IF ITs REALLY PICKED OVER , OR IF ITS BILL OF SALE BOUGHT CARS (  in missouri if i buy on a bill of sale i cant legally sell parts off the car)  , I have to just crush it complete .
