So I ran into this guy today who claims to know transmissions, but I dont know If I trust him. He seemed a little off his rocker, but I was being nice and tried to talk to him. Well I told him about my transmission leek. He went on about how there is a piece about 1inch by 3 or 4 inches long that was on the top of the trans, this piece also has a gasket. He said that could be the where the leek was coming from.  Now from the little that I could make out from him I cant figure out where this piece was. So if this piece exists what is it? What does it do? And most important what is it called? Thanks in advance Dom.

If it's leaking from the inspection cover area.... it's either the input seal or the pump seal.  :Twocents:

If it's leaking from the dr's side pan area, could be shift shaft seal ?
