I have all wise like the AMX's. Happend to look at one today and I was a little shocked at how little rust 1.5" X 3" that was on the AMX. I was not there to buy the AMX but give a bid on body and paint work. AMX has been taken to bare metal as well, old filler dug out.

Reason Eric was wanting to have painted is he had not gotten any real hits off E-bay. I was thinking he wanted something stupid for the AMX. I was stunned when he said he only wanted $4300.00?

If the AMX was a 69 Charger R/T I would say $20,000 if you where lucky as a buyer.

What I did see on the interior was, well nasty but the AMX was gutted only the front seats.

Never asked what engine was in it or miles, I was not there for that.
But I am pretty much feed up with my 69 Charger. If you want details just check the Perormances Center. Nothing like having a $7000.00 440 going bad with in 90 miles to make you go Why am I messing with this POS.

APX worth, think $4300.00 seems cheap.

What could a 69 AMX have for a engine? I worked on a 69 AMX with a 390 20 years ago and when we where done, grapp your balls and hang on. It was fun car to point and steer with. ;D

And before anyone say's "don't sell you 69 Charger, well PM me and it could be yours". Dam girl has been fighting for 10 years now and close to getting a KO.

Besides, I still have my 68 Road Runner ;D God, have had her 31 years and only have 1/3 of the money and time in her.

Ken, I saw some AMX going for not much money. I don't know why but it seems they ain't very popular.

Hey tell me about your RR, that would be a nice story to hear. I drool all over 68-69 RRs :yesnod:

I think the 69 AMXs had 390s in them, The motors were pretty kick ass but were known to have weak bottom ends. A friend of mine had an 68 SST Javelin back about 15 years ago with a 343 and 390 heads and that car screamed. It ran low 11s back then and eventually got it into the 9s with the tubs, plexi glass and alot of motor work over the years. Theres been 2 69 AMXs i found in a barn near me the ive been wanting to check out but dont have the time. Your right on the price though, they dont bring much money, Ive seen mint ones go for around $10k but that may be a good thing because there a nice little car.

CB, 2-14-1968 was the day I fell in love with Mopar. I was 12 then, and can remember like it was yesterday. Nasty day, over cast and drizzle. It was 5:30 PM and Mon and Dad was getting home late from work? Then I heard it, Beep Beep and I flew out the door in to the rain. Dad had taken me to a car show in 1967 and I knew the sound of a Runner horn.

There she was, 1968 Road Runner, 383 Road Runner engine, 727, 3.23 Sure Gripp, Frost Blue and only 17 miles on her. To say it was love at first sight was a undestament.

CB, it would take 3 days to post my history with her. Everything from Dad telling I would never owen her, to sinking her in a swiming pool to her glory days with a 426 Maxie in her. She is a good of a friend as Sonya (CB will know).

Anyway , back to the question about the AMX.

Ken, you're making my head hurt!   ;)

Brother, I feel your pain...where's the Bufferin?

A nice AMX should be worth decent money. Completely done I'd say $20K or so, maybe $25K if there is something rare about it, $30K+ if it has a racing pedigree. I personally always liked the AMX's...I'd have one in my stable (if my stable were bigger)...

The '69 AMX's could have a 290, 343, or a 390.

A friend of mine has a real nice Bittersweet orange 1969 AMX 390 4 speed. I would say the value of his would be high teen's to low 20's.

The Big Bad versions or Donahue's would command more IMO.

Shakey

I have heard that the AMX cars will be worth a lot in the near future.  I can try and find the article and post it.

Seem's like it not a steal, but a rapping either. Just seems a little odd they are worth so little. I did a serach on E-bay and found 4 of them, one only had 3,000 miles on it and resiver was only $25,000.00? God a Charger with only 3,000 miles on it would be $40,000 if it was a 318 car.

Thanks for the links Shakey.

The one I was talking about is a 390 AMX.
