Removing the oil pan with the engine in the car

I'm looking to change my oil pan to a newer low-profile pan to gain more clearance. It looks like I should only have to remove steering link to remove the pan? Just checking to see if any one has any tips on removing the pan in the car? I plan on doing this after Carlisle.

Yep, just the steering, and the bolts that hold the pan up.  Real easy.

Tip #2

Rotate the crank to number 6 @ TDC. This will move the counterweights on plugs
1 and 2 up into the block giving you more room to work the pan between the block
and the k-member.

Tip #3

If your pan has a baffle in it; once the pan is free from the block, rotate it a few
degrees CC to clear the oil pump pickup.

Tip #4   Make sure you replace the oil pick up with the proper one for the new pan...

Tip #5, remove the pan bolts in the front left and right (the ones under the K frame) first and install them last.
