Are all women born to shop????

I know mine was.  Since I retired, I've spent more time shopping with the old gal than ever before.  Her whole demeanor changes once she is inside the air conditioned environment of a Costco or any other large store.  She seems to be in some sort of trance.  Her eyes kind of glaze over, she becomes unaware of her surroundings other than the potential object that may be destined to go into the shopping cart.  She leaves her cart in the middle of the aisle oblivious of the fact that others can not pass (I hate that).  What should take a normal guy about ten minutes and cost $40.00 to acquire, becomes two hours with a cost of around $600.00 by the time all of the extra NEEDED items have been found.  She seems somewhat concerned when leaving the store that she may have forgotten something, but still satisfied because she SAVED a bunch of money on all the marked down items that she bought.  All I see is that we just spent a ton of money.  Tell me I'm not alone here.   Bob

I can't believe you even had to ask.   :slap:

What you see is standard chick behavior.  :eek2:

Women are generally better at multi-tasking than men...they can shop and yak on the phone at the same time, talking about a completely unrelated subject.  :smilielol:

Women pay $10 for a $20 item they dont need, but they buy it because it was on sale.

Not all but it seems most women are like that. It's like some sort of sport or competition for them to save $50 by spending $400. I tell my wife she could have saved even more if she never went. I don't know why it takes them so long to shop either. I hate going but when I do I like to see how fast I can get in and out.

Women have a SHOPPING GENE!  It right next to the ON SALE GENE!!!! They work together as partners (Think Starsky and Hutch, or Murtaugh and Riggs) and can not let a sale get away!

This is WHY you have 12 Mr Coffees and 9 bedroom suites in storage!!!!!!!

Gotta admit that my wife does the same thing. She told me the other day (last Saturday) that here and her sister were going to run over to Target to pick up some balloons for one of the kids b-day parties. They left at 9:45 am, and said they would be back in time for lunch. Which Target is 10 miles away, so 20 miles of driving and the 10 minutes to get into the store some how became at least a 2 hour project. Only thing is they didn't return until 8:50 pm. And with an entire Durango full of plastic bags that were over flowing with millions of items that weren't on the original list. All in all me and my brother in law had already spent the day with the kids, fed them 3 times each, gave them all baths and had them heading to bed.

Then again i do the same things with cars. Took off one morning to drive to Cincinatti to look at 1 charger 500. Left here at 10 am, said I'd be back by dinner time. I made it home at 2 am the next morning. Oh well, it was a nice car, had a lot to look at.

Not always true. I hate to shop. I go in get what I need and leave. Now when I have Shelby with me , it's gonna be a long day. ::)

I tease my wife about it, I tell her she gets easily distracted by shiny objects.  :pity:

What I like to say is -- "  When is a Bargain not a Bargain ? .......... When you don't need it !  "    :brickwall:

Sometimes i say that to myself also, like when i want to buy an extra set of identical rims for a car when there is nothing wrong with the ones already on the car.  " But someone might steal them, and these are so rare, and the price is right, etc etc. "    :shruggy:

Well at least if you can spend $800 at Costco without blinking on a retirement income , that is pretty good.
