Hi Guys... yes I'm right now at the sunny California. Will make a road trip from here witha buddy of the third gen board up to Carlisle if things comes good. Theorically leaving tonight from Bakersfield.

There is lot of ppl to meet but not too much time to make it. We are tight on time. Initial project was leave on Jul 2to make all stops as posible, but we are making some tune ups on an "old" 88 Chevy Pace Arrow MH what did need some care before leaving. Jer couldn get it done at the time when I arrived because some health problems but I helped on this and is almost already done. ( I hope so )

Jer had planned go to Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls ( yes David ), meteor crater and some stuff more, but some of the initial schedulle will be changed due the tired MH and the weather problems you have been getting here on Mid states. Plus, with the tight time dunno how much will be able to watch really. So I can't promise anything.

On the route will pass by Kansas ( I would like to know some of the Kansas Mafia, like RD who has been a great buddy getting me some parts all this time, and lot of ppl from there ) but as stated I don't know how will be this trip.

Also some ppl from cali like Ponch, Las426 and Brock, but we have been busy fixing the MH. Maybe on the return trip. Will stay up to 25 jul.

OK thanks, but don't oversize the deal  :blush2:... and please don't let know to Hemihead you are saying this  ::)

will keep update as far I can.

I wanted this like a small suprise, but since everybody at 3rd gen boards is already updated since long time ago ( not everybody here is member there ) and already floated on, then will use this thread started by my buddy Bob, to try to update how is coming out everything.

and thanks for the warming welcome everybody. Of course the DC.com Tent is on plans... I have to pick up my Tshirts :D

was going to have to cancel the trip....but the kid has been great, and is doing the bulk of the work
in getting the Pace Arrow ready AND LOADED for the trip...with any luck we're pulling out late tonight
or tomorrow...

Meanwhile, for your enjoyment:

Niagara Falls ( yes David ),
Cool! let me know when and if you plan to cross over in to Canada or not.
It's good for me either way - my new passport showed up today - but I know the Canadian side better.

Bob

This is not an advertisement for Jer or Nacho. I took it on myself to post this. Nachos trip is being hindered by mechanical problems with the motor home. Seems the fuel pressure regulator is faulty and they are only getting 4.9 mpg of the anticipated 8 mpg they were hoping for. This will double the fuel expenditure, which is not in the budget. Funds they have raised so far for fuel is not sufficient to make the trip back to California. As much as we would like to keep Nacho here, we can't. This will mean a great out of pocket expense for them. They are going to make an effort to repair the problem but currently could definitely use a little more funding. I know there are folks here who benefit from Nacho. IF, you would like to donate any amount to offset the fuel please pm me and I will coodinate to ensure the monies are given to Nacho and Jer for fuel. If the moderators of this site believe I am out of line with this post please delete. I will be at Carlisle to meet everyone at the tent if anyone would like to donate there. I will not go around asking anyone in person as not to offend anyone.

Thank you.
Bob

Great  We have one so far. Any bit helps. :2thumbs:

What if we pony up some bucks for a new pressure regulator? That sounds cheaper than the gas mileage loss.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Bob

That would be great also. They are in Pa now and getting some shut eye. 160 miles to go.

Nacho-RT74

thanks guys, yes we are on PA... 4 hours to sleep 2 more driving up to campground

for more info about some upates and the NAA tour "jokes", original plans, modified plans, donations and stuff you are welcomed to visit the 3rd genboard. All that stuff began there LOL.

the problem was WE DIDN'T FIND the replacement kit! neither the reg itself or kit are available and in fact they are DISCONTINUED.

the weird parts is... PRESSURE REG ON A CARBURATED CAR ?  :shruggy:

Just got to find at Advanced autoparts website ( what does have a relation ship with Kragen in Cali ) that there is an universal rebuilt kit THAT COULD WORK, but still not sure. Anyway we went to Kragen and they didn't have in stock so we had to fix by ourself on anyway as posible just enough to don't have leaks that was the first sympthon we found.

Then anyway still don't know what could it be the real mileage on a 454 engine mounted on a Motorhome from factory, so we don't know for sure if the problem is actually the regulator ( even still needs to be rebuilt ) or carburetor or whatever! BUT an average of 6 MPG IS RIDICULOUS IMHO.

Ponch... supposelly we will get back in Cali on 23, maybe earlier. I still have to help to Jer on remove dash and check for its 72SE wiring condition so I'll have some work to make. Don't think will get lot of time to spend, BUT I'll be on line on those days. If you can get to go to Bakersfield will be great... if not, maybe LAX airport before my departure ? my plane is schedulled to 25 at late afternoon.

Of course needless to say that we had to bypass all the visits to the ppl around, like Kansas, Des Moines, Toledo etc... since because bad mileage we had to go simply straight up from Oklahoma to Pensilvania. We tried to meet with Chriss in Indiana ( dukeboy318 ) but he had to work... we couldn't made a plan before to let him know earlier or any guy in IN or OH. I wanted to meet to the guy who got picked up the NOS quarter panel I won on ebay. Still needs to be shipped to FL but is on safe hands ( or I hope so LOL, not right now on Chriss hands )
