Confused with XV pedals

Ok I was wondering if anybody here has installed them on there 3rd generations because I have a set and the XV gas pedal is way bigger then the orginal and seems that theres alot of overhang. I would like some pictures if anybody has done this and I lost the instructions so I don't know if it goes over the padding or I'm suppose to drill right to the plate.
