Im working on putting in my new TTI exhaust.

But....  the headers wont fit, the kickdown linkage is in the way.

Anybody run into this?

Or did I do something wrong?

What headers are you using 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 or 2in ? TTI sells a 1 3/4in lowdeck header that won't work well on a 440....if you have that model it could be the cause of your problem.

Also, if the motor mounts are broken or shimmed this can also create fitment issues.

TTI has very specific measurement data for engine mounts you must adhere to or their product will not fit.

Its the 2 inch.

And it appears to clear everything just fine except the kick down.

That makes sense.....there's also a modification for colomn shift auto transmissions as well from what i remember. At least the fix is easy enough to perform if that's any consolation.  :P

shouldve just went with hookers, might've had to bang one or two pipes but youd save money and you get same performance anyways

What didnt help is that the primarys are 2"

Anyway I fixed the Kickdown , however the instructions are wrong.

I read the instructions did what it said and ERRRNNTTT   no good.

At least for my car anyway.

The Clearance is TIGHT to say the least.

Less than a 1/4" between the starter and the kickdown and less than a 1/4" between the kickdown and the header.

The headers are finally on, but it looks like the Shift linkage and the kickdown bump each other.

Ill deal with that later.

Anyway.....

The TTI's are killer and amazing in every aspect except that glaring fault....

I dont know what gives.

And really, Ive already invested a Zillion dollars on these pipes.... why not charge me an
extra $100 and included a modified kickdown?

Rubberduck

How about Doug´s headers.
Do these fit well?
