Mystery emblem...what is this off of?

I found this emblem inside the bottom of my trunk extension today.  At first I thought "cool the original 400 magnum emblem" but then I quickly realized it's too small. I purchased some NOS emblems a few years ago and that's what's on the car now.
So the mystery...what are they off of? It is NOT the origianl one for the hood, it is way to small to match up with the original hjoles in the hood. It looks like it the same size as a the emblems on challanger/cuda side scoop but I don't recall that being an engine option ever for those cars. Road runners have decals and dusters/darts are out...any guess'?

Look on the back side for a part number.

WingCharger

Maybe it was an interior option? See if there are any filled in holes anywhere.

rav440

maybe from a 75 76 CHARGER or the MAGNUM or did they only have 360s  :shruggy:

72 SE magnum cars had a smaller engine emblem on the fender. I know the 440 did anyhow. Not sure if  73-74 cars did the same or not. I have pics of one but they are 2 larger.

That is strange. Been into 3rd gens for a long time, can't understand what that would be either?  :shruggy:

Didn't the e bodies use a smaller hood callout emblem like that...I've seen 383 and 440 magnum ones that size on the hood... :popcrn:

Right, BUT, E-bodies never came with 400's.
It's probably for a Dodge pick-up truck, they sometimes had small hood emblems like that.
Just a guess...   :shruggy:

A part number would help....

What flat hood B-Bodies came with the 400 Magnum? It may be a fender emblem?  :shruggy:

71ChallengeHer

My son had a 74 Satellite with a Roadrunner hood on it, from factory. It had a 400 Magnum in it and the emblems on the hood. I don't remember how big the emblems were. :shruggy:

AKcharger

Well no part # so that doesn't help, there are small indents for posts, perhaps they broke off or it was a glue on.
Now about a '74 Satalite/road runner did plymouth use the term "Magnum"?  I thought that was a dodge only thing

Ghoste

You are correct that Plymouth didn't use "Magnum" in any of their engine designations.  I am also very sure that Plymouth didn't use anything but decals for engine callouts on their B-body hoods from 71 to 74.

Alaskan_TA

Only think I can think of is a Charger SE with a flat hood.

I know I have seen the emblem on a car someplace.......

REad Above. How do I post a pic that is over 200KB?

Ghoste

You need to resize it.  Check in the site suggestions area and I think there are better instructions for it there.

Alaskan_TA

If you do not have a re-sizer, email the photo to me and I can do it for you.

News flash:  E bodies never came with 400s?!  Sorry for the quick little hijack.  What could you get in 72 - 74 E bodies?

Awesome! Great photos Chris.

Anyone have a photo of one with the 400?

Alaskan_TA

Brock,
1971 was the last model year for a big block in an E-body.

Choices for 1972 were the 225, 318 or 340.

AKcharger

Hmmm well looks like mystery is solved...I have NEVER seen that before. Well you learn somin new every day.

Super blue I either take low pixel photo or load to photo bucket and link 'em

Never seen that before, ever. The 72 SE cars had something on the fender, can't remember if it was CHARGER or SPECIAL EDITION placed a little bit higher, but I have never seen an engine size emblem on an SE before.
