I have noticed a some droplets on the bottom of my trans by the access plate, anybody know what it could be? I have gone under the car yet I just saw it when I got home. Thanks in advance for the help Dom

you talking about the dust cover on the bell?  If its just a few drops I would not worry about it untill you see it dripping non-stop unless you want to track down something that might not be a big issue.  Every time I have tried to track down a drip by pulling off parts, it opens up a big ass can of worms.   If its something simple like a pan gasket then go for it.

if its by the access plate, it is either a front pump seal going south or a converter leak.

:iagree: If it's tranny fluid then those are the most likely sources.

It could also be a rear main seal leak on your engine assuming the fluid you are asking about is engine oil.

Could it be overfill coming out the vent?

dd44068

Well it is tranny fluid and according to the dip stick it is not overfilled. Sorry for being a little vague in the first post. I got under the car yesterday and everything was tight cleaned it up and drove it and same problem. I guess I will be taking it down to the shop during the week. Again thanks for the info.

Doc

How long did you drive it ?

could very well be determined on how he drove the car :D which is of course the standard hehehe

either way, if it is a front pump seal or a converter, you are dropping the transmission.
