Wonder if it still has the dents in the roof? Since my 440 came out of that car..I wonder what my car is worth? lol  :popcrn:

The only thing worth a squat is the hemi.
Uh, yeah. I bet you couldn't give the rest of the car away... :eyes: I bet many people feel the same way about brown cars (especially ones without a Hemi) but I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate their opinion.

It may not be worth a fortune but let's be realistic. Some people will pay a premium for a car with "history" - but not everyone. I wouldn't personally pay any more for it than I would a similar car owned by Joe Nobody but that's why I'll never own any "star cars", race cars, autographed memorabilia, or famous homes. Some women are happy with plastic Wal-Mart sandals yet others need $1,000 purses and shoes just because of the name on the tag. Some men pay ridiculous amount of money for defaced (signed) baseballs and other do the same for old car parts (NOS). Certain item are worth more than the individual parts. Our cars - and even a Hemi - are certainly worth more (to us) than the cost of the metal at a scrap yard.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I didn't know that the car finally sold after last year's bidding fiasco. :icon_smile_blackeye:
Oh well, It'll be interesting to see how high it goes this time.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Lucky you!

Some of the half-million-dollar B/J auction price went to charity.

Of course it isn't worth the $10 mil, but be fair to it -- It's a low-rust Arizona car with all kinds of good drivetrain & chassis mods.  Painted another color, the same set of performance mods could have gone by a name like "Mr. Angry" or something.  Not to mention the Bo Duke cred.  It ain't exactly worthless.

My guess?  The current owner may just be testing the waters.

G-man

I would never pay 300 000+ just for somebodies signature, to only have a Charger thats worth 30 000 of that entire price.

Dont worry CB, your car is Bronze to me!

People forget, this particular car was NOT a garage queen and the graphics are (or were when Schneider had it) MAGNETIC. That thing has a KILLER BULLETPROOF  drivetrain.

It has done the cross country races, and the high speed races, it has a great suspension and it WORKS.  A Show Poodle it AIN'T.

Worth 400k? NO WAY. But this car is also NOT scrap iron, regardless of what some think of the paint.

And the car DOES have a neat history.

The thing is a TURN KEY hotrod you can drive without that much fear of breaking something.

I Bet Mike would be REALLY happy to be driving that big orange car this week!

bull

Looks like a high-stakes flipper to me and by the looks of it he'll come out ahead. Not bad for a day's work if you can afford to buy in I guess.

69*F5*SE

It's that I just don't feel that just cause Bo Duke owned it that it's worth so much.  :Twocents:  But I understand there's people that are in to it.

That is not correct. I helped with those decals for the Car and Driver star car shootout. They are high performance vinyl laid straight onto the car. John removed his decals for the Collier and Company movie, Car and Driver wanted the GL, not Traveler, so John asked us to bring decals. Originally we left the big K&N windshield decal on the car, but when we came back from lunch, the crew removed it without asking. So for a couple hours it had both GL and Traveler decals in place.

pettyfan43

Oh OK I had seen some pics of the car both ways and had just figured that they were magnetic.

Oh Well.

Still a pretty neat car, 400K? Don't think so!  But pretty cool.

Since it has already been proven in January that the price of this particular Charger doesn't influence the price of Chargers in general, I suppose it's better that someone with too much money is putting it here than in oil futures and driving up the price of gas?  :D

BrianShaughnessy

Not my price range for that car.   What happens at BJ isn't a true representation of anything to me.     It'd be a cool car to have and beat the living snot out of tho  :icon_smile_big:

But I heard thru my friend that the country DJ Tommy Walker's car was sold not long ago for low 6 figures.    His was supposedly a real TV car but I never found any definite site or listing to confirm it.     I saw it at a few car shows and my friend detailed it but I can't say I've ever met the man.   Now I understand he bought an old Bandit TA  :shruggy:
Black Betty:  1969 Charger R/T - X9 440 six pack, TKO600 5 speed, 3.73 Dana 60.
Sinnamon:  1969 Charger R/T - T5 440, 727, 3.23 8 3/4 high school sweetheart.

I think the "real surviving TV General Lee" conversion actually has a part number in the YearOne catalog these days.
