1968 Seat questions

So I started redoing my seats tonight...
Picture 1, what is this thing?:



Found on front of the drivers seat.^

Picture 2, it appears my seats were green??? I thought that they just faded to that color but I took off the panel and found this:



Picture 3, this is one of two tags found on the seat. What else can I find out via this thing other than what I'm assuming is the car's birthday of 4-26-68???
(lol its one month younger and 22 years older than me haha)


That tag translated in case you cant read it:
(symbol that looks like Y inside a circle) CHI (or maybe CH1?) 4-26-08

The other tag I found (same seat) I didn't take a picture of but its smaller and reads:
2888607-K
4-1-68 CAD1 and the last number/character looks either like a 2, Z, or 7???

The bracket on the front of the driver's seat is where you can fasten your seat belt.   There should be one on the passenger's seat, and 2 on the rear seat.  One of the 2 on the rear seat should allow you to fasten 2 seat belts on to it.

How does it hold them? Do you just like fold the excess and tuck it behind?

You lengthen out the female end so that it snaps on to the bracket, just as it would fit onto the male fitting on the other half of the belt.
