I really like the coronet grille/500 look. A friend of mine has had trouble finding a grille assembly for his 68 Charger. He had pretty much given up on restoring the car when I mentioned going this route. He bought a real nice coronet grille and the headlamp parts for less than $150 on e-bay.
With the high price of grille assemblies nowadays, it's seems to be the only other option.

I think the word Clone needs to be redefined around this place.  :shruggy:

Not to mention the word "Daytona" being used on any old Charger these days. You need an XX in your VIN to truly call something a Daytona. Show the true owners a little respect.  :icon_smile_wink:  :P

And no messing around with the damn headlight doors!

Hold on, my mistake. I forgot about the 80's and 07/08 Daytonas. What did their VIN's start with?  :icon_smile_tongue:

doesnt even qualify as a clone to me, its just a Charger with a Coronet grille.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Exactly my point. Even the word Clone is getting abused these days. The cloners should be outraged.  :RantExplode:

Nothing wrong with a clone...but that ebay car ain't one.

Gotcha and I agree with you 100% ....I for one like clones, but IMO a clone is a car that is VERY hard to tell from a real one aside from the #s.

That Charger definitely doesn't fit the part.

No kidding!  The only thing C500 on that car is the grille.

And that dash!  :cryin:   My eyes, my eyes!!

As far as I can tell, the owner never claimed that it was a 500 clone.
That started with this thread.
Who are you guys bashing? The owner of the car or the guy that started this thread?

At best its a 69 charger with a different grille lacking certain detail a pillars and window plug.So its not really a 69 charger 500 clone or replica. But a nice looking charger with add ons

This has already been stated but it really looks like a car that got "finished" despite not having the right parts or money. The dash, engine comp, and grill look ok. Infact they look pretty good for cheaper short cuts. Pretty inventive IMO. I think it's good for the money (12k) but not much more.
