I wouldn't mind having a Lambo V12 - best engine I've driven in a while...    linear powerband, no violence, just a clean / hard pull all the way up to redline...      not bad for 270ish ci    :smilielol:

Granted - the v10 (or v12) will never sound like a v8 - probably my only regret.
But, it's all in the exhaust sytem.  If done well, it will sound awesome, if done poorly - it can sound like a UPS truck.

I have heard of folks making custom headers with pipes crossing side to side from specific cylinders to give it a v8 like sound.  I wouldn't know where to start (and it would be a plumbing nightmare).  Has to do with firing order/etc. E-I-I-E-E, etc.  It would be a cool topic of discussion to lay out the exhaust pulses of a BB v8 vs a v10 to see the differences and which pipes to swap to get as close to the firing order as you can.

Anyone want to take a shot at that?

Oh, and the v12 idea  :slap:   :eek2: that crosses the boundry of not putting a mopar motor in a mopar.   :coolgleamA:
It would be interesting to know the dimensions of the v12... may or may not be longer than a v8 or v10.

v12>v8 sound any day of the week WOT

No doubt - v12's sound awesome.  I like that exotic sound especially when up in the RPM's.

OK - I went ahead and layed out the cylinders, firing order, and exhaust pulses of a v8 and v10.
You can clearly see how the exhaust pulse is different which accounts for the significant difference in sound.
What is interesting is to follow the path of cylinder firing on each engine (see arrows).  The adjacent odd cylinder
in a v10 always fires right after the even one. 10-9  4-3  6-5  8-7  2-1   Interesting...

That famous v8 sounds comes from the L-R-R-L-R-L-L-R pulse.

For a Chrysler V12 I see 2 options:  Old school siamese 2 L6s & New school siamese 2 V6s.  Just dreams really.  Chances of finding
2 aluminum L6s & someone to do the engineering, machining & welding are a very long shot.  This is not to mention crank & cam
forgings.

I believe there is an aluminum LA available all ready.

V12's have a nice smooth Hum, but next to a "real" hemi (426,472,528, 540  :drool5:) you know which cars the real beast.

To me, nothing on this planet sounds better than a HEMI.

I dont know man...     a Lambo V12 sounds pretty sweet...      I'll give the hemi props at isle and low RPMs ...     but WOT goes to a lambo hands down   :Twocents:
