dumb burn out question

When I get my car back it will have discs on all 4 corners. How does a stationary burn out work exactly w/out a line locker? I don't want to glaze those pads too bad.

Most of your cars breaking is done up-front anyway.  Dont think you need to worry,  usually 75% is done in the front 25% or so in the rear.

true, I just wonder too if you somehow feather the break pedal in such a way that it gets applied slightly different...

There is no fun sitting in one spot and just smoking the tires, going down the road sideways smokin the tires is what is all about. Maybe a couple of 360's.  :yesnod:

I agree, I was just thinking of warming up the tires for a drag that's all.

You could add a proportioning valve, ie, like a wilwood one that you can dial up or down with what you want,  when you go to the strip shut off the rear and then turn them back to where you want them for the road?

IDEA for you anyway :shruggy:

Ha, I beleive they installed that. I wasn't sure what it did. I remember them telling me not to touch it!

Why not go with a line locker unit?

Also, i had asked this before in a previous thread and no one seemed to know the answer. Seems everyone installs there line locker on the front wheels....why not install it on the back? Instead of pressing the brake and THEN engaging the lock, you would engage the lock and then hold the brake pedal (like your power braking it) but the line lock is already engaged blocked any fluid going to the rear wheels, now you can let off the brakes and move around a bit if you want instead of sitting in one spot. You would just be closing of the rear wheels. Just a thought, but will it work?? I dont see why not.

An adjustable prop valve doesn't turn the brakes off or on, it only limits the pressure to the system it's installed in.

For burnouts a line lock is what's needed.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yes, I am AWARE thus the statement of ADJUSTING them to what you WANTED, guess I could have left the turn them OFF part; off for you?....... thanks though

It works, I spent a long time considering doing it that way, gives you a lot more functionality.
