Just got confirmation yesterday, my '68 has been accepted for the Dealer Display at this year's Chrysler's at Carlisle!  :boogie:

Looks like I gotta put the skinnies back on...

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Congrats Bill !  :2thumbs:

There'll be a red 68 RR with tan gut nearby that's owned by a guy named Rick.   He's Eddie Vedder's guitar tech.   It's a sweet car.   I'm having trouble locating a pic at the moment.    He drove it up to the Rhinebeck show to be in the winner circle,  took it home, cleaned it up and is letting it sit till it goes on the truck to go to Carlisle.     Of course he's riding the bus with Pearl Jam right anyway.   :icon_smile_wink:

So who decides if its going to be a Dodge Dealership display or a Plymouth display? I didn't get a chance to go into the display last year to check it out, just curious.

Based on last year, it was a MOPAR dealer display. All Chrysler products from the 1968 model year were considered this year, but I think special attention might be given to Chargers and the "newly redesigned" B-bodies for that year.
According to Ed, the man I spoke with in charge, my car will be INSIDE the dealer.

There's an old, small dealership building on the road leading into the fairgrounds at Carlisle. I think it was an old John Deere dealer?  :shruggy:
They mock it up to look like an old, nostalgic Mopar car dealership. Last year was for 1967, this year is '68, next year will be '69, and so on. There's a showroom setup, service bay, signs, parts, commercials playing, used car lot, etc. Cars are on display only.
It was really cool to see last year.

Hmmmm, so then next year will be the 69's? So if they are going to do it right next year they need to have some Daytona's and A12 cars show up on mid-day Saturday at the dealership. That would be half way through the show right?  :icon_smile_wink:

I'll make it a point to go check out that display this year. Last year was a bit side tracked, only viewed a handful of cars last year. (less than 20 I think)

Do they repeat or do they keep going on? So will there be a '82 ( :rotz:) year or something or will it just go back through '69 and everything.

That's great news Bill!! The '68-'71 VIP list for a dealership invite has gotta be tough to get on. Glad you got in.

Now where will we hang out during the day? I think our only option is the LX fun field area next to 6T9's Daytona. That should be a fun new experience. Probably hotter chicks hit that area anyway.  :yesnod:

Yeah, I REALLY didn't know if I'd get in, especially since the '68 is an R/T clone and all. It makes going to the show this year even more worthwhile.

I thought about where we'd hang, too. Looks like we'll both be tied up with cars in special displays (woo-hoo!!   :boogie: )   The sights SHOULD be pretty good in that LX area, might just be worth hangin' there for a while.  :coolgleamA:  :scope:
Lemme know if ya's still want me to bring the EZ-Up, just in case.  :2thumbs:
