73 trans leak

i got a 73 with a 318ci and it appears that the trans is leaking at the main seal...so how hard is it to do yourself? Am i better off bringing it in to get done, and how much would it cost?

if it is indeed the front seal, then you have to drop the transmission, remove the converter, put in a seal remover and tap a new one in (making sure you apply a generous amount of lube on the seal itself) AND BEFORE you install your converter, make sure you emery cloth the 'verter input to insure you do not rip the front seal and have to do it all over again
