Hi,
Need recommendations, should I go with a singel Pioneer 10x4 (TS-A4103) as front speaker (dash) or the two small speakers in a bracket also dash??
I will run them with 4-channel amp togher with 6x9 speakers rear...

Thanks!

you can make a custom plate with 4x10 template and mount two small speakers on plate. There are couple of members what already made that

I'm no audio guy.. What would be the best for the sound? Singel or dual speaker system in the front.

For stereo, of course DUAL. Single makes you need to choose ONE OF THE CHANNELS to feed the speaker. Then if you are mounting two on rear will have two speakers for one chanel and just one for the other channel, not good for the stereo sound.

My 74 is setup right now with 2 speakers, like originally was the stereo setup for cars with rear deffog... left channel on front and right channel on rear. My I have a diff goal. I'm keeping stock setup with in fact ORIGINAL MOPAR SPEAKERS

On cars with stereo and double rear speakers setup without rear deffog, the rear speakers were set like a true stereo, and the front to left channel. Not a real stereo, but apparently audio was not a BIG priorrity on those days. Then to make some BALANCED sound the two left channels were two smaller speakers ( 4x10 in front 5x8 on rear left ) than the right channel only one speaker ( 6x9 ) what makes a balanced power audio transducers setup, but not necesarilly a true stereo effect.

just E bodies ( maybe C bodies too )had an optional true "good" stereo setup. In fact were lot modern audio setup, with three speakers in front being a stereo setup and a center channel like a modern surround effect, with a crossover control unit. Then also the two rear speakers.

and blah blah blah.. LOL

at the end, for a real steero with the modern audio system you are planning, make a template of the front speaker cut out, and fit the two speakers you are able to fit. Dunno remmeber the best sizes what fits there.

Thanks for the reply. I have mailed turnswitch for a quote on the 10x4 dual high output speaker for the dash, so we will see... In the rear 6x9 speakers will do the job with stealt look.

The 4-channel amp is mounted under the seat with sound from my portable mp3-player.

My sound system will also have a stock look with the thumbwheel radio in the dash.

I think rear cutouts are one 6x9 on right side and one 5x8 on left side... that is on 3rd gens and I think also on second gens
