I tried to find some numbers, but that sounds about right... from what I remember from the numbers on the old DC site - very low numbers of /6, manual 3-speeds...

but as it has been said many times, rare doesn't mean desirable. I think it's pretty cool, but I'm thinking that the market isn't going to respond to the level that perhaps the seller is expecting. He does say ha has no idea of the value, but then he says, "no low-ballers"  :shruggy:

I'd say the way to get the info he's after is to put it up for auction rather than for sale to "Best Offer." Yes, it's kind of the same thing but there's no deadline to submit offers.... so what do you call "best" and when do you call it "best"? Ya know what I mean?

I think he is going off of an older GG White Book for the numbers known for the one of 2 designation.  That information is incorrect, as I have seen more than two three speed manual /6 1968 Chargers.  One of those cars was sitting up in SD a decade ago.  The owner contacted GG and he raised the number known from one to two because of that car......

You'd need the BS, tag, window sticker or other factory documents to prove it was a three speed on the floor otherwise...cool car and interesting find. :Twocents:
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

:scratchchin: /6 came standard w/ three on the tree in 73... very interesting  :yesnod:

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

A friend of mine had one like that just out of high school. Just a bare bones '73. Didn't even have power steering. Was tan in color. But he put 15x8 Cragar SS wheels on it with air shocks, and it still looked cool. Wish I could find a good fixer upper like that with gas prices the way they are. I suppose the car you have is pretty much toast now?

the white book listed 2 - people say what now ?  7 made ?  but most of them were column shift if i remember correctly
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

There's a Differance between #'s made & #'s known. With 2 known they could have really made 100 of them. Supposably 904 known with 902 being Automatic & the 2 3 speeds. LEON.

As I am 15 minutes from Los Gatos (where the car is located) I hereby volunteer to look over said car for any serious buyers. I have already asked for the fender tag and Vin, so if and when I get them I will post them.

The 6cyl 3spd manual cars in 68 were all column shift.....I had a chance to buy an original one years ago, it was up here in the Seattle areaI decoded the fender tag..it was a legit car......but passed because of no money

I'll have to go look at this...the guy that has it is only about 5 blocks from my house.  I saw it on his car trailer when I came home the other day.  I'll see if I can get some more pics.

There is more than two 1968 manual /6s known out there, as I know where one is sitting up in SD and I have seen two more of them at different car shows over the years.  GG has not updated his White Books to reflect more of them being spotted since he released it........

I know there were a few factory /6 in 1968. But didn't the slant 6 become an option in 69? (see allpar: http://www.allpar.com/model/charger.html and scroll down to 69).

The floor shift makes this 68 rare not the fact that it's /6 manual.

Well, I guess I waited too long to go get pictures of the car.  It was 5 blocks from my house, but has sold again.  This car has sold twice in about 3 days and is up for sale again in Los Gatos.  I spoke to the guy who found it and it was an original green colored car with green interior, 6 cyl., 3-speed on the floor car.  That's about all I could get since it changes owners more often per week than I fill up with gas.

The Kid

That's a very interesting find. In the 5+ years I've really been into Chargers, especially the 68's, I've never seen a factory /6 with a floor shifted manual. I've seen probably 3-4 different /6 cars, but they were are three-on-the-trees. Very interesting indeed...

Aftermarket shifter with a cable instead of mechanical linkage.
