As some of you know my mom has had her fair share of medical woes for quite some time, but she ended up with mutlitple problems all at once and was pretty much written off eight days ago.
There been a lot of talk about C.O.P.D., C.H.F. and the dreaded D.N.R.
But despite all of the doctors saying she wouldn't see last Monday (she went in on Sat. the 25th) her kidneys have spontaneously begun working again and she dropped nearly 35 #s of fluid build up.
Her blood pressure and sat. levels have all come up and are now holding steady.
This is after being told that that was no longer a possibility.
So sufficed to say, it's been a long week.
She's not out of the woods by any means, but she's showing a real desire to fight back and to see whatever this life has planned for her.
I'm a firm believer in the power of prayers and positive thoughts, so I'd really appreciate as much of either of those I can get.
Thanks in advance.

The Human body is an amazing machine in the way it can and does heal itself, and the will to live in people who have been "counted out" by the medical community never ceases to amaze me!  God bless your mom! Prayers are on the way. :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

May Lord heal your mother. Don't trust doctors, they don't have control over anyone's life, when its time for her to go He will decide.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's the Doctors don't usually give much hope.  I think it's to keep the let down from being so dramatic.

I for one can vouch for the power of prayer and you & your Mom will stay in my thoughts and prayers.  Keep your head up Johnny.

done buddy!

Lord, as we walk down some dim paths in our life, we know that you are with us at all times, we may not touch, hear, or see you, but your presence is surrounding us like a security blanket to ensure that we arrive to our destination safely, comfortably, and to glorify Thee.  Please accept a humble prayer to Johnny's mother to provide her with the strength, knowledge, and courage to understand Your purpose for her, her children and those loved ones around her. Amen.

Thanks for all the support guys.

Things have taken a more final turn, and my mother's choice has been to go with in-hospital hospice due to the fact that she knows it's her time.

I really feel that all the prayers and thoughts gave my sister and I a full 10 days to spend with her.

She is ready for whatever is ahead, and I, by the grace of God, stand by her.

I love you Mom.

Thanks for always being there for me.

And I hope that I have been for you.

For those of you whose parents are still with you, make sure they know you love them.

And Dave, thanks bro.
