Hi to anyoner. I installed a timing belt on a little 4 cyl Toyo and everything seemed okay and it started up and ran fine, but the idle seemed strangely low and maybe wiggled a bit. Could this be that all of the points did not line up, although I'm pretty sure they did?  I bumped the idle up some and it seems better. It has plenty of pep and runs fine otherwise. It does have a spark plug wire that is almost rubbed raw. Could I blame it on that, or should I tear it apart and check the belt again? Thanks.

take a copression test. compare it to specs. that should give you a clue as to if you got it right.  did you
turn  it over 4 times by hand  and check the dots when you installed the belt? otherwise replace  the wires  and see if it runs like it should.
