Hit a deer with the Aspen today

Well I should be more specific as the deer hit me. I was driving down the road leading out of town in the Aspen when a deer ran out of the woods and proceeded to try and jump the hood of my Aspen.  :slap:

I had the peddle to the floor so I never had a chance. The deer bounced off the windshield, rolled up and over the roof, and hit the road doing ass over tea kettles.  :eek2:

Good news is the only damage to the Aspen is missing chips of paint.  :rotz:

Bad news is the deer was dead long before I got the Aspen stopped (brakes work ver well even though they need to be bled), my life flashed before my eyes, and I needed a change of underwear.  :-\

Even though the deer is dead Im glad it was a deer instead one of the many moose in the country! Of course I would have preferred to not have bounced anything off my car at all.

I'm betting there are a lot of deer stories from other members. Glad your experience turned out better than most.

Glad to hear you n your windsheild are OK

Just scratches in the paint?!  Amazing :2thumbs:

I travel in Texas & Louisiana late at night & scan the sides of the road constantly.
I'm still not sure what good it will do if I see the dear coming :icon_smile_question: :RantExplode:

What a lucky break.  Every deer vs vehicle collision I've seen here usually had major damage.  Not to hijack but deer related is last night at work we had a deer get startled in the parking lot.  There is a hole in the fence they can get through to cross the lot to get to some clover or whatever they eat but it tried to bolt through a gap between the turnstile we have to pass through and the chain link fence pole next to it.  Got half way through and wedged itself at the hip.  Made a lot of racket until we put a cleanroom coat over its head to calm it down.  Took us over 1 1/2 hours to dismantle the turnstile enough to increase the gap between the poles and lift her big behind up high enough to push it through. Funny thing was it took off like a rocket with the coat still over it's head for about 40 ft before it flew off. At least it made a slow night go by faster.
