lower radiator hose spring

does anyone make the lower radiator hose spring or should I make one out of a coat hanger. If I use a coat hanger as aspring how fast would that start rusting?

Why not buy a new lower hose with a spring? Also dont know if you will find it at the auto parts store, but summit sells em.

They are called Corbin Clamps. Available from multiple sources.

sweet thankx for the info, the last lower hose I bought didn't come with a spring, but I will call around and see if they have any springs or any corbin clamps

The Corbin clamp that Don is talking about is the factory style hose clamp that clamps the hose at either end.  Are you asking about that or the spring that goes inside the hose to prevent collapse?

yes I am talking about the spring that goes inside the hose, I already have the corbin clamps.

I don't know how accurate they are, but Mopar Performance is touting the fact that they now offer `authentic` reproduction rad hoses.  They should have a spring if they are actually authentic.

This question about the spring that goes inside the lower radiator hose is a good one.  I know that in the old days, you had to remember to take the spring out and put it in the new hose.  And if you didn't, the hose could and would collapse.  So do you need to have a spring in our cars now (2nd gen Chgrs).  Or is the rubber hose somehow better and won't collapse (I doubt it).  And if you do need one, where do you get it?

For a long time (somewhere between the "old days" and now, I guess), most hoses were coming with the spring installed.  Lately it seems a great deal more difficult to find one with the spring.  Have to return to the old way maybe?

bought one a while a go ! no spring    .. had to reuse my old one

Just got the hose at my local auto parts store (not peboys, or strauss...ect). They have been around for a long time so they still stock alot of older parts.
